The visitor center itself is fairly small but has a lot of information packed in it! They have very friendly and informative staff. The very best part is their garden outside. It is filled with native plants that are all clearly marked with their name and scientific name. They also have gardens specifically for annuals that seem to change every... More

Called in on the Palmer Visitors Centre for maps and general information about the area and these we did get. What made the visit was a very interesting conversation with a gentleman called Richard who was very knowledgable about the history of the early settlements and development of the Palmer/ Wasilla area. We stayed much longer at the centre than... More

A great place to stop while heading up to Denali National Park. Just shortly over an hours drive from Anchorage. There is a Crossroads of the World sign right outside the Visitor Center that lists many major cities and their respectable distances from Palmer. A lot of interesting history inside the Visitor Center as there is a nice exhibit on... More

Thank you so much for visiting us and for your positive review. My staff does their best to ensure that all of our guests get the information they need and leave with smile. I will also be sure to pass on your compliments on the garden to our Head Gardener. Her and her team of volunteers work hard throughout the... More

We stopped on a whim and we absolutely delighted. They had a mini-museum, with displays, informative signage and a great video about the New Deal experiment of bringing farmers from Wisconsin and Minnesota to form a farming community in the Palmer area. It was such a good video that we sat and watched the entire 45 minutes and then bought... More

I stop by the visitor center to ask questions and get some information on activities in the area, they were very helpful! If you need maps or ideas this is the place to go.

If you love framing and history, this is the place for you. They tons of the pictures of the early farmers. These people were moved up her during the dust bowl of the 30's. They also have most if not all the house plans and all of the out buildings

Although this is a small visitor center with not a lot of exhibits, it had exhibits unique to this area. I was most interested in stopping here due to the way it was settled. Additionally, be sure to walk about the outdoor garden to see how huge vegetables grow in this area!

Beautiful flower and vegetable garden located alongside a well-made log building. More tourist things for sale than I expected, but good information from helpful people

The young guy that helped us was not motivated, I had to ask everything that I wanted to know about, nothing was spontaneous, he was pre-set for the Reindeer and Musk Ox farms, that's it. Please we go to spend money and there are many other places and things to do in the area.
