We booked this tour with our cruise company, so you could probably do this cheaper by booking independently. It starts with a scenic 45 minute float plane out to Neats Bay. The views are exceptional. Make sure you fly the same side to and from so that you get views of both sides of the plane. Then you land at... More

We had been starved of wildlife viewing opportunities in Canada so this trip proved to be a highlight. The floatplane trip from Ketchikan was brilliant, great scenery and an informative commentary from pilot Clark? After about 30 minutes we landed in Neet's Bay and taxied up to the salmon hatchery jetty. Here we were met by guide Amanda and her... More

Always wanted to see bears in their natural habitat, and wasn't disappointed here. The flight was sensational (very smooth), first time in a float plane and loved it. The plain ride is worth the money whether you see a bear or not. Our pilot gave interesting commentary on the 20 minute flight, very informative. Upon arrival started our walk and... More

OMG I cannot put into words how amazing this trip was. The seaplane I have to confess is an acquired taste, the weather wasn't great and we felt every bit of the wind and air pockets. Once we landed and got to the viewing area it was just superb, at one point we had 7 bears all together in full... More

We were flown over the beautiful Tonglass Forest in a Float Plane, and all that we saw from the air was described in a fascinating manner. At Neet's Bay, Puck, our Bear Guide, showed us the Salmon Hatchery, Bear Trails, trees that bear had marked, bears scooping salmon out of the water, and the "temporary dens" where the bear ate... I've been to Neet's Bay twice - once by float plane and once by boat. This is a salmon hatchery and the bears are there because the salmon are coming back to spawn. Since I was on arranged tours both times I don't know how the guide system works, all I know is that we had a guide each time.... More

The adventure started out with a float plane ride gives you a birds eye of Alaska's terrain - breath taking & worthy of many pictures. The plane delivers you to a dock, where our group was met by Amanda - who led us on an easy walk through the woods, past the salmon hatchery and to a run area where... More

Lots of fun, both getting there and seeing the bears in their natural habitat, firstly we took a bus out to the float planes, it was a ten seater craft, I thought the flight was ok but my wife felt a bit air sick from the bumpy flight we flew over some mountainous terrain only accessible by plane arriving at... We had an amazing time at Neet's Bay. The plane ride from Ketchikan was great, it gave you an idea of the surrounding landscape which was truly beautiful! At Neet's Bay we were greeted by Amanda who you could tell straightaway loved her job and she gave us a lot of information about the bears, life at Neet's Bay and... More
