Come aboard the "Aleutian Ballad" crabbing vessel as seen on season 2 of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch". Depart Ketchikan Alaska for a 3 hour trip to catch king crab, snow crab, octopus, fish, prawns and more. This tour also features some of the best eagle viewing on the planet. Share the allure and adventure that draw fishermen to the sea. Fishing legends that have worked the Bering Sea are your guides, some you may have seen on TV. The vessel has been retrofitted for guests comfort and fun, with a "live" tank on deck to allow for closer viewing of the wondrous creatures brought on board. Guests stay warm, dry and comfortable while we sail calm and protected waters. This is the REAL ALASKA and you won't want to miss it!

My son and I went on this tour in July 2017. We enjoyed the demonstrations of crab fishing procedures like throwing hooks, and baiting and pulling pots. Although it was on a very small scale, it was still informative. My son enjoyed learning about and...More

We booked this excursion at the last minute, and it did not disappoint. The crew was extremely friendly and appreciative of all the tourist who chose this tour. As we were taken out to an island, the crew threw out fish and 12-15 eagles had...More

These people know their stuff. If you think you are going on a real adventure, not true. However, you will experience what they do and hear real stories. These people will touch your heart when you least expect it.

Had a fabulous couple of hours out with this crew. The boat is specially adapted to take spectators. We saw 4 different types of crab, octopus and eagles. The crew were interesting and funny. Well worth it.

Hello! Since we do not serve food on our tour it should be fine. Guest can touch the crab if they want to but don't have to if that's an issue. Hope that helps!
