This is a nice beach for walking and looking at mountains. There are several access points with parking. You will see trucks and SUVs there.

We walked the beach at low tide. It was great walking and the beach rocks were fascinating. Alaskan beaches don't have sand so you are walking on gravel. The mountains across the Inlet were snowy and it was a lovely walk.

An interesting opportunity to observe the locals during their dipnetting (JULY) makes this a good stop. However, the city GOUGES everyone for parking during that time. They even charge to drop someone off the visit and pick them up later, used to be FREE to...More

The Kenai City Beach is a great family designation. You can walk for miles picking up shells and different colors of stones. You can see eagles and different search birds. You can drive on part of the beach.

This beach is not for sunbathers (after all, you are in Alaska). But it's good to go for a view of the ocean/inlet & to pick up shells and rocks.

We don't fish, and know absolutely nothing about it, so this was an interesting spot to watch the sport. I'd also never seen folks just leave the fish heads around for the seagulls to eat. Fascinating!!

I had never seen anyone catch a fish with a net and it was spectacular! Everyone was so excited and friendly. I took lots of pictures of happy people and seagulls!

When you think of Alaska you don't really think of beaches and things at a beach. Yet I live a short way from here and this is a place that is beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The shores are clean and the area is just nice....More

I haven't been there in August, but I am certain it involves multiple layers and rain.
