Overstreet Park is extremely clean. They have nice restroom facilities and are not far from the downtown area. We were searching for all the "Monuments and Statues" listed on a Juneau map. The life-sized statue of the humpback whale was amazing. We'd love to see more work by Artist R.T. Wallen. We had a lovely time walking around this park.

On the Juneau waterfront, west of the cruise ship docks and just south of the Douglas Island bridge is the unmistakable whale sculpture (reviewed separately) which is the centerpiece of Overstreet Park. The park appears to be fairly new (satellite photos from 2016 show no trace of it). It's a nice place to relax, with benchs and chairs near the whale fountain. There are public restrooms and a parking area for both cars and longer vehicles. Vistors have easy access to a winding boardwalk (called the "seawalk") that meanders along the beach eastward from the park. The park provides some good views across to Douglas Island and down the channel to the south. Sitting in the park one can watch the seaplanes as they come from the north, clear the bridge, and descend to land on the water near the ships to pick up their passengers for the day. Very nice.

The walk along the channel is lovely, an interesting place to learn about local plants and animals, as well as exercise on an even surface.

Come and see a whale in Juneau. The sculpture was made in 2009 for the 50th anniversary of Alaska statehood. It's a lovely spot, about a 15-20 minute walk from downtown.

The walkway along the harbor has excellent interpretation panels, cut out of plants in the metal posts is both fun and informative, post banners depict native art styles and whale sculpture is beautiful.

Located near the Juneau-Douglas bridge and on the waterfront, the park contained various seating and benches, paved walking areas and the toilets were clean.
The focal point is the life-sized humpback whale sculpture which almost "comes to life" when the water fountains start and it looks like he is breaching out of the water.

This is a park that is accessible along the boardwalk from the location of the cruise ships. It focal point is a wonderful statue of a breaching whale. The fountain sprays water every few minites - quite impressive.
