This is worth 30 minutes of your time. We parked here and walked along the trails and boardwalks — all the way to the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor’s Center. I would recommend this, as opposed to parking in their lot.

There are walking trails as well as just exploring the beach. The views are stunning. Easy access to clean outhouses and picnic areas with shelter are available.

We spent a wonderful morning, walking the trails and collecting rocks along the beach. At the end of the trail you come upon a wonderful bakery... definitely worth a stop for coffee and a treat!

We walked along Bishop's Beach - didn't see any animals or eagles, guess the wind was just to strong, but loved the waves and beautiful water.

We loved going there in the evenings. So many eagles and I took my camera to get some great shots. The gorgeous marsh area is a place you can really watch the birds.

The rocky coast of Alaska is an Agate stone finders dream. Homer's Bishop's Beach is no different. At low tide visitors can walk deep into the tidal floor in search for agate. There are walking trails just off the beach, bathrooms, and decent parking.
