Not quite what I thought. Exhibits were very well done but not very many of them. Lots of blocked off areas so not sure what else there was. No time to take a hike to the slough. Visit was short and sweet. It was convenient to get to but glad there was no charge.

We stopped in for a quick visit. It's worth an hour stop to check it out. There is some good info and interesting exhibits. It was raining so we didn't walk around the grounds.

A small and informative museum (no charge) with creative displays describing the nature and history of the islands along Alaska's Southeast coast.

Very informative visitor center. Free entrance. Sea life and coastal life are the subjects. Really helpful staff. Nice gift shop and very clean toilettes. Don't forget to do the walk to Beluga Slough departing the parking lot. We met a mama moose and 2 calfs on the trail.

Neat place right off sterling highway to stop in and get plenty of information about the plants, wildlife, and water of the area. Also took the little guided tour and learned quite a bit from our guide

This is an excellent, free center that focuses on the sea-life and habitat of the area aquatic habitat and wetlands. It was extremely interesting and informative. The nature walks associated with the center were really nice. Talks and shows at the center were also very informative. Something for the entire family. Must visit.

This year they had some of the best volunteers. Unfortunately by the end of July they were gone. The actual paid employees aren't as enthusiastic about the place. And some were pushy. They do have a wonderful Discovery lab Wed,Fri, and Sat in July. Overall, very educational. Bummer about the staff.
