A friend and I toured Homer for my birthday. We stopped in at the Salty Dawg for a celebratory drink. One was enough. It's a rough crowd of local fishermen when you are there out of season, and crowded to the gills with tourists around when you are there in season. We did the drink and bought obligatory souvenirs. It's... More

We were looking for a cold one and happen upon this place. When you walk in all you see are dollar bills stapled to the wall. Thousands of them. The seating was limited but we found a few available. There was a guy and girl singing old sailing songs making it feel like a real sailors bar. Which late on... More

this was a really unique place to visit they had dollar bills stapled all over the inside. walls-ceiling doors etc. The place was very busy, the service extremely slow. The bar maid seemed more interested in visiting with the locals then even serving the tourist. Glad we stopped-just for the experience.

It was the end of the season so I'm sure that is why it was a nice quiet bar. Relaxed bartenders, a mix of local and tourist.

We had read about the dollar bills on the walls but had no idea just how many, My goodness what an experience..dollar bills everywhere! Since there is no food served, we had a beer, bought a t-shirt and left. It was worth the stop. Very nice bartender as well.

This place is not for everyone. But it is definitely part of the fishing/charter culture of Homer. It is a rough and rugged place for sailors and fishermen. And we felt right at home. it is a real local hangout - not a tourist place. Come in quiet and get to know some locals. Stay awhile and meet some new... More

This place is so overrated. The bartender ID everyone (which I understand) but then after you order one round of drinks and ask for another she asks how you are getting home?! The girl beside me asked for a whisky sour and the bartender brought her water instead telling a grown woman that she had to hydrate first! It was... More

Homer is a fun little fishing village, After getting our halibut limit, found this little bar, a great place to swap stories over something cold. Hubby had a beer, while I enjoyed Margarita.
