This is a small museum in the downtown area of Homer. Lots of interesting things on display and gives you a peek on what Homer is all about. ( besides just being such a beautiful area ) We also enjoyed the short nature walk around the museum and the restored cabin they have next to it. About an hour covers... More

This museum is small and easy to complete in an hour, but has very interesting displays. Kids would appreciate it too.

This museum is situated in Homer Town which is a delightful town We really enjoyed this museum it was very informative . We got an excellent overview of the towns history which included the fishing industry the earthquake in 1964,which was devastating to the community . . Enjoyed the homestead cabin and then the museum itself. The exhibits were informative and interesting, especially the Exxon Valdez exhibit which reminds us all of the tragedy of the oil spill and the amazing courage and faith of the people who helped clean up the spill. I enjoyed some of the personal stories from people and the artwork was top... More

This is a nice little museum with a variety of displays. But for $8 admission, I expected more. I was more impressed with the Norman Lowell Gallery that's a few miles north and has no admission charge

We really enjoyed this stop. It was $8 each to get inside. For those interested in animal biology, there is a lot including skeletons, skulls, wings and talons from many local birds. There is also an impressive collection of marine mammal skeletons. For the history buffs, this is a great stop for the history of Alaska and of commercial fishing.

This is a small local museum with an incredible amount of information. We particularly enjoyed the video about the Kilcher family since we are fans of the TV show The Last Frontier.

We found this little museum and didn't expect much. It turned out that we really learned a lot about Alaska and the natives in this part of Alaska. The people working at the museum were very helpful and friendly I would recommend this to anyone who has time.
