A really well presented small-town museum. The juxtaposition of local aret with educational exhibits, though slightly unusual, works perfectly. The bulding itself is also interesting with a superb space for local artists alongside the museum. Highly reccomended.

Interactive exhibits about Alaskan history and culture. They also have a webcam, currently showing activity on Gull island. You can even watch it online. The webcam used to show activity of the McNeil River bears, but they discontinued that because the cameras were interfering with...More

Interesting collections of exhibits and information about Alaska. Exhibits are well done, interactive and very informative. There is something for everyone here-history, art, marine life, and bears! Friendly, helpful staff. It was nice talking with Kelly from gift shop!

Nicely presented a variety of things about Alaska. I enjoyed the films and displays. The gift shop was minimal. Would be nicer if a bit less expensive admission.

We paid the $8.00 to go but didn't stay long. It just wasn't interesting to us. Now there were others in there and seemed to really enjoy it. It's not that big of a museum. The lady greeting us was very sweet.

Our group stopped in the visit this museum while visiting the area. It was very enjoyable. My favorite part was the map that showed the area affected by the Valdez oil spill. I did not realize the full extent of the damage until I saw...More
