Mom and I just got back from taking a beautiful rafting trip down the Eagle Preserve with Randy as our guide (Haines Rafting Company). Awesome experience!! Thank you Becky for spotting the Moose and her calf in that pond WOW!!! One of many highlights on this trip, beautiful scenery, Eagles everywhere, Moose tracks in the sand, Trumpet Geese, waterfalls down the side of a mountain, Birds serenading us, and what a snack (cheese, crackers, and smoked Salmon) fit for the Queens that we are!!! Don't hesitate to take this trip with Haines Rafting Company -you will be connected to nature in a magical way!

This was an amazing rafting experience ! We were in town (Haines) for only one day with no previous arrangements, headed to the Eagle sanctuary. With only a phone call we had an experienced, knowledgeable engaging tour guide, that listened to what we were interested in, and accommodated all our requests. Further, we found this father – son team that operated this company to be instantly likeable, to the point that weve already begun plans to return.

We drove around to the river from Haines & were rewarded by seeing a grizzly digging & turning-over stones on the beach looking for food, then a second grizzly in the rver fishing for salmon. A great morning out.

We had a group of 9 of us did this excursion from our cruise ship and were very pleased with the entire trip from Skagway by boat to Haines, board our bus to our river boat with a light lunch before our excursion. The entire staff were very professional and knowledgeable with the entire area. We only got to see a lot of eagles and swans but were not disappointed we did not get to see any bear or a moose. The trip was really a nice trip and I would recommend for travelers to Haines or from your cruise to Skagway.

We went on a rafting tour with Andy as our tour guide and with my husband, our grandpa and our older daughter. It is perfect for any ages, the river is nice and calm. We saw several eagles nesting - very close! Very enjoyable and informative ride! Andy did a wonderful job maneuvering through twists and turns and different currents.

Rafting on the Chilkat River is something those of any age will enjoy. It's gentle float through wild and pristine forests and wetlands. You might see moose, bald eagles, swans . . . or even a bear! Expert guides know their stuff.

Rent a car or taxi. You can not miss seeing this river. Does not matter what time of the year it is you really must see it. Make sure to get some local knowledge on it before you go.
