So this is an excellent walk. It takes 30 to 45 minutes up a steep ridge through forest to the needle. The needle itself is not for those who have a rational fear of heights. Chains are there to assist on the rock face. The...More

Don't do this walk if you want a paved walk. Track is a narrow path, covered with roots, steep in sections & slippery mud when wet. Be prepared to scramble, use hands to hold on to roots or slide on your bottom to get down...More

Visited this as part of the 'Crossing' walk, it's a reasonably challenging track and in need of some serious repairs. The needle has amazing views Nd worth the effort.

We did this after rain and it was slippery underfoot. You need trail shoes at least - some people were doing it in sandals, and that didn't seem like a good idea. Wonderful views from the top. Challenging in places (think tree roots for ladder...More

We did one of Pa's Walks over the Needle, with Bruce. Bruce was excellent - very professional, helpful, informative and fun. We were in a group of about 20, which is more than I like walking in. It was a bit of a huff up...More

You could... There are a few places where we used both hands to climb and it was slippery on the way down... Depends a bit if you are doing it alone or with another who could arrest a slip. I probably wouldn't do it alone... More
