We loved the hike to the needle! We parked our scooter at the bottom and made our way up. The track is not clearly marked, but if you have a good sense of direction, you will be fine (you can also do it with guides)....More
I started from the waterfall... got the bus to Wigmores and walked through the road which was about 15-20 minute walk.
The waterfall was non existent... and they was doing construction too.

My wife and I climbed to the needle. Wonderful view and even though it is steep and a fair distance, it was not too hard. The view is great. Had a little trouble finding the start from the street maps.
