We walked across the island - well from the start to the finish of the track anyway! We started on the town side - the track starts off wide and easy. As you climb the track becomes a bit narrower and steep - but still...More

Excellent day hike, reaching the needle on the Cross Island Walk! One of our Rarotonga highlights! We weren't sure we'd be okay without a guide after reading other reviews but it's totally fine if you're a confident walker. The path is clearly labelled and even...More

My wife and I climbed to the needle. Wonderful view and even though it is steep and a fair distance, it was not too hard. The view is great. Had a little trouble finding the start from the street maps.

Was my aim to do this walk. It is challenging in parts so good level fitness required the downhill is technical and need to watch footing carefully. Well worth the effort though awesome walk

Came on a guided hike which I was glad I did - at times the path seems to disappear and is hard to see. Going up there is a bit of scrabbling with a decent amount of holding onto tree roots to help get up....More

As per previous reviews, be ready for a steep climb. But the views are awesome and it's worth your efforts

Amazing walk, well worth the effort! Stunning views at the top! We did the walk from the northern end - took about 55mins with plenty of stopping, to the top of the needle (I’d say we have fairly average fitness levels). Then about 40 mins...More

We did the walk from the car park (at the northern end of the walk) to the Needle and return as we left our car in the car park. I can only agree with the previous reviewers that not only do you really need average...More

They should be fine if they're reasonably fit. I saw plenty of teenagers up there. the walk isn't that far. Just a hassle at times
