We invite you to book a Kia Orana morning or afternoon speedboat cruise (for up to 10 people) when you come to Aitutaki. Whether you are an individual or a couple, a wedding party, or a group of friends, cruising around the Lagoon and visiting One...more
Cruising through the super beautiful Aitutaki lagoon to varied islands in the morning was lovely but for me, eclipsed by the two very different snorkelling stops in the afternoon.
‘Captain Useless’ was anything but, Shaun managed to meld being genuinely friendly, hard-working and competent without...More
There are only two tour operators that go out on Sunday - Kia Orana is one of them. Captain "Useless" was our guide for the day and he did an awesome job (not useless!) - navigating through the coral reefs, sharing information about the lagoon...More
Luckily for 3 other people we booked the day before, because other smaller companies were fully booked (Kia Orana requires a minimum of 4 people, as outlined in other reviews). We were picked up at our resort and it wasn't long before we were on...More
Do not go to Aitutaki and not do this trip, its magical. We were a group of 8 who were picked up by Captain Useless who looked after us for the whole day. He took us to the most amazing places on his comfortable speed...More
We booked a tour of the lagoon 2 weeks in advance with them which seemed a smaller business and more interesting way to see the lagoon. Unfortunately they are too small. Our tour was cancelled the night before because we were the only guests. I...More
We made a booking with Kia Orana tours well in advance (months!!). The only thing we had to do was to reconfirm one day prior the actual trip. After a lot of attempts of our friendly hotel staff we finally managed to do so at...More
This cruise is essential. It takes you to lovely small islands of the lagoon. It's on a small covered speed boat with about 9 people. It goes to many islands to wander around and have lunch on one of them. The food was wonderful. We...More
The day we ventured out there was a glorious ever so gentle breeze, so it was the most perfect day! The tour was very informative, visiting 7 different motus and the swimming and snorkelling was exceptional! Captain Fantastic was a great delight, ensuring we had...More
Kia Orana cruises operated by Captain Fantastic (Andrew) as he calls himself are a fantastic experience on a sunny warm day. Expect some wind as the boat does go reasonably fast at times - bring a dry change of clothes for after the snorkelling.

There are shallow and deep snorkelling spots in the lagoon. Kia Orana cater for all levels of swimming ability. They carry life jackets which you can wear while snorkelling. I wore one so I could concentrate on filming with my Go-Pro. Make sure to let the skipper know if you don't feel confident in the water.
You may want to look at a private charter like Black Pearl where you will get one-on-one guidance. The owner, Mere, is lovely and she will get in the water with you to ensure your confidence and safety.
