Very informative lecture about the raising of black pearl oysters, and the meticulous and careful culturing of black pearls. The multitude of tasks involved as well as the substantial skills required were an eye opener. Provides a greater understanding of why these jewels are priced the way they are. Definately recommend this visit.

Visited in the month of September and made the trip here especially to buy some of the beautiful pearls on offer. The visit started with an informative talk and demonstration of how the pearls are farmed and harvested. We were then able to enjoy some lovely tropical fruits and juice and then visit the boutique. There are pearls available for... More

We visited the Motu Pearl Farm as part of a half day boat tour out of Raiatea. Calm seas, perfect blue skies and sea, half an hour out of Raiatea to Tahaa and a quaint local bus to Motu Pearl Farm, Good shop facilities, a banquet of fresh tropical fruits and juices for refreshments, and a charming and funny Polynesian... Fascinating excursion to this pearl farm on a small island. Excellent description of the process and harvesting, with great entertainment thrown in.

You won't actually see a working farm. They will give you a short speach simply explaining how the pearls are cultured and then take you to their store.

We enjoyed our visit so much! The family owners and the rest of the staff were warm and friendly. We listened to a lecture about the farming of black pearls and the different sizes and qualities and colors of pearls. There was a beautiful picnic area to sit and enjoy the beautiful water and sights. There was a shop that... More

In 2006 a group of us spent 2 weeks sailing around French Polynesia. One of our stops was at the Motu Pearl Farm. We were greeted by a lovely lady who was married to a Dane. She gave a presentation of how the black pearls are cultured, showing us every step of the way. It was fascinating and we learned... More
