I have hunted Moose with Papa Bear 4 times now. Each time the experience has been outstanding. PB does such a great job getting you safely (Bush Plane flying is no joke) to your hunt location and ensuring you are prepared for success. The gear you rent from them is top notch and is supplemented with additional supplies like an extra gas hose for your propane tank, long spoons for your dehydrated meals and a patch kit for your boat. Their accommodations back at the lodge are also best in class. Clean rooms and baths, nice eating area. What I like most about the lodge is the meat processing station that is fully equipped to get your horns and meat home – no need to pack Saran wrap, foam and duct tape. My favorite thing about PB is the concern and care they place on proper meat handling in the field and how conscious they are of quickly retrieving that meat to get back and in the cooler. While I did witness for the 1st time a hunter processing his whole moose to ship home, most hunters end up donating 80%~ of their meat to the grateful and needy people of Bethel. It feels great to make that donation and know all the care and emphasis that went into making that happen. I highly recommend PB, Justin, Seth and the whole crew. I look forward to hunting with them again in a few years.

Tawny and Aaron are top notch.. I used these guys with a Dave Duncan and Sons float trip in July 2021. I had a personal catastrophe and they were critical in getting me well and up to speed. I cannot recommend them enough due to their handling of my personal and medical issues. Suffice it to say that they have my business going forward, and that I will treat them like family. I m humbled by their treatment as a customer.

We chartered Papa Bear Adventures to take us to the Kwethluk River during late July 2020. The staff and pilot were extremely professional and well organized. The rafts we rented were well maintained and we got a run down on how to set them up. We have floated several rivers in western AK using different outfitters. Papa Bear is a cut above the rest of them

Attention to logistics and detail of every aspect of the trip. Prompt replies to queries about our planned trip. Great assistance in navigating COVID Alaska requirements in this difficult time. All quality rented equipment. All staff were polite, informative and listened to our requests for information. They would control the weather for you if they could.

I have done 6 float trips in Western Alaska over the past 12 years, the last two being with Papa Bear Adventures (Kanektok and Kisaralik). They have been the best outfitter I have used by far. They make a logistically challenging trip a breeze - from answering questions in advance, being prepared and organized the day you arrive, providing professional pilots and excellent equipment during the trip, and making sure your departure is on time and helping ship anything back you may need to. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and I can't wait to use them again in 2022 (my wife will only let me go every other year!)

I have been traveling to Alaska fishing for close to 30 years. I have been to many Lodges and used many outfitters. Without a doubt Papa Bear Adventures is among the best! Their equipment is well maintained and clean. Their service and communication is outstanding. And when you are going to be on a river for 8-10 days in the middle of the wilderness you certainly want to know you have the best equipment and a great team like the folks at Papa Bear backing all of it up!

2011 was my first trip with PBA. i had a fishing bug, and i thought a float trip out to western Alaska would squelch the urge. but it just made it worse! I have taken advantage of PBA every year since. The available rivers, the gear, and the organization all make the experience so fantastic.
It is rather impressive how specific you can tailor your trip; short or long, you can fully organize and coordinate all aspects, or PBA can provide all gear and details.
And the fishing in these rivers will spoil you for other rivers; be forewarned!

Our family organized a wonderful Float trip with the PBA team in Bethel in August . So many logistical details need to be done and the PBA team helped us with everything . Their way of doing business is first class and they truly make you feel welcome . We have been floating western Alaska for quite a few years but we all know now we will only do business with the PBA team . Aaron , Tawny , Justin , Seth , & Robbie have true American work ethic and it was clear from the beginning that they wanted our family to have a great adventure.

I've done three self guided 90 mile rafting trips in the Bethel area and hopefully one this year. These trips are the highlight of my year. The only outfitter that I considered and recommend is Papa Bear Adventures. They provide the best service, equipment and knowledge to make your adventure a positive experience.
