Law School

I have spent hours on campus at the law school.. A typical university camps, but not in the best of condition. Good place to study Costa Rican Law, however.

It felt a bit like in a time machine going back to the 1970s, though in my home country we did not have campuses like this. A relaxed atmosphere, students walking around who have time, no security checkpoints or police to be seen, free services like a library and wifi. I liked the high old tropical trees, rich in shade... The campus is quite large + large enough to have a bus service on campus. There is free wifi throughout the campus for visitors and their restaurants are cheaper than the local competition. They do spanish courses for foreigners that are more competitive than the private companies.

If you are coming to San Pedro anyway, you can enjoy a walk through UCR's campus. It feels a bit like a trip back in the 1970s, but the architecture and crowd give you a sense of the values of educated Costa Ricans. A nice break from the city traffic.

Big campus with lots of green spots, and a place to seat and have a talk or read a nice book, just walking around will take you many hours, but use your time wisely.

A pleasant campus for a stroll and next to an area with a lot of restaurants and cafes. An easy bus ride from central San Jose.

I loved attending the university of costa rica, such a rich diverse student population, lots of great events to get everyone out and having a fun time. I even remember seeing projecto uno perform here, and some of the very best restaurants are located all around campus - mmmm, arroz con pollo fue muy fabuloso!

This is a large campus. It is filled with numerous educational buildings, beautiful gardens, sculptures to entice the eyes and a small but fabulous Museum of Insects. To get to the museum you need to pass the School of Musical Arts and the sounds eminating from within will definitely attract your attention. There is also a running tract and a... More

Like any other campus, there are very interesting things to see in UCR. I tend to take jogs around the university as the main road goes around the university. But even just to walk through the small forest in the middle which houses 1-2 sloths who usually like coming out to say hello. You can also spot the different graffiti,... More
