I had hear that there were exhibits within the station, but not so. It's still an active commuter station, so we were able to see a portion of the building being used as a ticketing spot and people getting off and boarding a train. About...More

This is (again) a lively Railway station, especially during peak hours there are long queues of people waiting. The price is 550 Colones one way regardless of where you get off. I took the train in Cartago at the end of the afternoon, when most...More

The height of budget railroad technology, sixty or seventy years ago perhaps. Interesting building and facility, and a little more visually pleasing than its sister Pacific Rail Station across downtown. But observe and be amazed at the creaky old narrow gauge tracks wending their way...More

We viewed this train from our bus tour of downtown San Jose. It was difficult to take pictures with the fence enclosure. Brick sidewalk was nice and was great to see a part of Costa Rica history. Glad they have preserved this train.

Beautiful architecture. Lovely history. This is a nice building to look at and read up on the jungle train history. I took the train from here many times when it was operative from San Jose to Limon in the early 1980s. Brought back many memories....More

You may as well just drive by this because the train station is not open and the train is caged in and very difficult to even take pictures of it through the fence. There is very little information except on a plaque by the train...More

We were walking by this on the way to a restaurant and stopped in to have a look, not a lot for a tourist as far as historical displays, but a nice building none the less. There was a number of pieces of street art...More

Barely functional as a train station, but you can take the train to Cartago from here for around C550. There is no information and the building is always closed when I go by there. Has potential, but needs an investment of capital and labor.

Nice historic railway stop in San José's east side...needs more information for visitors. Much history to be told about Minor Keith and the banana plantations...this was the link to the Atlantic Coast before the 1960's

The train system in Costa Rica is very...hmm, quaint I suppose would be a good adjective. Narrow gauge rail, with cars & engines assembled from various locations. The rails themselves are kinked and humped. Read the Wiki entry - it's quite humorous (after a recent...More
