It's just a dirty little central quad area in the middle of a lot of pedestrian area. Doesn't make you want to hang out. If you are here, try some street food from the local carniceria like empanadas or chicarron. Inexpensive and filling,

After the hustle and bustle of downtown San Jose, it was good to relax and try to forget the noise and trafiic.

Nice park but, there was nothing there as far as activities. This is a great place to people watch or maybe have the kids run around a little. Not sure it is worth the drive.

If you can get a shot of it from your bus, that is all you need. The park is always full of people, some of whom are a little suspicious.

In the middle of everything, lots of noise and nice if you like meeting people, locals and from other places.

This park is centrally located, next to the central market and when night falls comes alive with Avian roosting for the night. Statues around the park are nice and interesting.

This pocket park is named Parque de Central (Central Park) only because it is located in the center of San José, near the intersection of Central Avenue and First Street. Several TripAdvisor-designated attractions are within a few blocks of this…um, ‘central’ location. A concrete domed roof is supported by four “legs” and sits atop a platform. There are a few... This part of San Jose is busy! Lots of people and traffic. However, in the middle of this activity is the central park, a nice place to stop and relax a while, if you can find a seat. Many birds hang around, as well as street entertainers at times. The ornate gazebo is used for bands and entertainment, and if... More

The Parque Central is in the heart of San Jose and is good to see lots of green parrots in the evening around 5 pm or shortly after. It´s located at a busy point in the city, therefore its a pretty noisy spot. On the east side of the park you will see the beautiful Cathedral Metropolitana and on the... More

This is a busy place for the locals to pass through or stop to sit for awhile in the midst of a very busy downtown. Nice structure in the center.
