Came inside to avoid the rain but was impressed bye what was in this museum. A trip to history of currency from the indigenous population until today. There are three levels and it's not a large complex so you should have time to see everything....More

We enjoyed our trip to the gold Museum but found it very noisy and odd that a large group of mothers were playing & doing a photo shoot by the entrance when we arrived. The children were very young and several were screaming the group...More

The museum's artifacts are well presented and explanations in English are excellent. I found the section on how gold pieces were cast by the native peoples to be very interesting. There's not much to see/do in San Jose for tourists and this is definitely one...More

Decent museum underground in vaults in the main city of San Jose. The most interesting part is on level 1 - Costa Rican money through the years. Levels 2 and 3 are aimed at ancient trade of gold and metallurgy which was also interesting. Nice...More

One of the few interesting museums in San Jose, well worth a visit. Gives insight to the history of South America and the region of Costa Rica.

It's a OK museum, but there's not really while lot to see. It was very clean and people were friendly, but there just not enough to see. What they had through was interesting.

About $6 per person - don't know the children's entry fee. There is a lot of "eye-candy" to catch a young child's attention. Gold really shines! Also, many of the sculptures and carved pieces are uniquely shaped and... More

I was there in August and as a tourist and not a Costa Rican the charge was $11 USD. Not sure if price went up or if the $ is better but there was no discount for tourists.
