Even though there was lots of construction going on and each room you went into set off a motion sensor alarm that chirped continually it was interesting. The art on display was varied but it's the 2nd floor that makes it worthwhile! Beautiful carved walls!

The museum was in the old airport terminal and while the art was not impressive, the second floor had a large room which was originally the airport's diplomat lounge. This room was stunning. The walls portrayed the history of Costa Rica up until 1940 when...More

I loved the combination of modern art and history at this place. The building itself also tells a great story. Go there and get to understand Costa Rican culture better! I went there in 2014.

This former airport building is now a contemporary art museum. Nice sculpture garden in the back. The hardest part is crossing the street in front of the building; no pedestrian crosswalks. Admission is free and must check all bags in a complimentary locker.

A small but contemporary art museum that requires only 30 to 60 minutes to view. The most interesting part? The gallery and adjacent park were an airport pre-1940: very interesting!

We visited here for 1/2 hour prior to closing. It's small & doesn't take long to view everything. I would say only need an hour to thoroughly enjoy. We found it very interesting & are glad we stopped by. Only upstairs display is in English...More

It's for free. Do not expect a large museum, though, in case you are used to the large European museums. It's basically composed of a large main hall at the entrance, two small rooms at the North side, about a Southern room... More
