Our tour guide was very informative and allowed me to see a side of San Jose I would not have been able to see on my own. The pace we walked at was great and it was hard to believe that the tour was 2 hours long. She was very knowledgeable on the history of the city and her recommendations... More

We booked and paid for a walking tour before we left home for our trip to Costa Rica about a month in advance it was for our final morning. The evening before the tour due to start at 10am the next morning we got an email saying they had a problem with the guides & could we go in the... More

Hi Adrian, again we are sorry we could not offer the original tour you booked. We notified you immediately that we had a sick guide (the number of qualified staff we have is finite, especially in low season, and we will not invent a guide last minute that doesn't meet our standards). We checked to see if you could reschedule... More

The center of San Jose contains beautiful turn of the century (19th to 20th) buildings (homes, factories, warehouses) that are easily missed on a bus or van tour. Some are in walking-only areas, others in neighborhoods where the vehicles don't stop. In all cases they require a thoughtful explanation of their unique qualities. The walking tour puts you in the... More

We met with Lorena, our locally born guide for the 'Foodie Tour', with an extra helping of history. Lorena told us all about a number of architecturally important buildings, including the National Theatre, Central Bank and Post Office along the route to the Central Market. There we tried ceviche with green bananas, drank fish soup, ate various exotic fruits, discovered... More

We only had 1 night in San Jose and weren't sure what to expect from the city. We had booked the walking tour for right after our arrival. It was a perfect introduction to the city and a great way to get our bearings. The guide spoke great English, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We got an excellent tour, seeing... More

Our tour guide was Lorena. She seemed shy and soft spoken. Sometimes she had difficulty finding the correct translations from Spanish to English. She met us on time. There were a total of 6 in our group. She took us to several different buildings of various architectural style around the city. The tour does not include touring any of the... More

Thank you for your review. This is atypical feedback so I'll look into it right away. You should feel well educated on culture and interesting history by the end. I'm sorry that was not your experience! More

It being my first time in San José, I wanted to get a feel for the landmarks, people, rhythm and vibe of the city. My tour with Silvia accomplished exactly that and more. My friend and I were the only two on the tour and we very much enjoyed our essentially "private" walk of the town. Silvia was accompanied by... More

We loved showing you around! Thank you, we really strive to offer a tour that goes beyond dates and names. Most people don't receive information on Costa Rica and we try to put San Jose and the country in the context of what is going on in the entire world. More

Our first trip to Costa Rica started with 2 days in San Jose. We did a 3 hour tour - historic, cultural & arts combined. Sylvia was our guide and we loved the experience. We learned a lot about the city, the country and Central America in general. Sylvia was very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects and she was... More

We booked the food tour and my husband and I ended up being the only people on the tour. Our guide met us in the park at the assigned time and took us on a very nice walk, pointing out different buildings and sharing some of the history of San Jose.
