We booked a day tour from Drake Bay to the Corcovado Park. We loved the boat tour with our 300 hp boat along the beautiful coast and the jungle. The landing on the beach was spectacular as we needed to surf the waves to the beach. But then the deception started:boat after boat landed on the beach and everybody was... More

We flew into the Sirena station from Puerto Jimenez which took approx. 15 mins. Cost us $80. each(min. Of 4 people) then had the rest of the day walking around with our guide. Stayed the night in the newly equipped dorm. Comfortable enough. There were only about 25 people staying the night so not at all busy. Saw a fair... More

We went to Corcovado Park after having been to Tortuguero, Arenal, Poas, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio. Therefore we expected to see nothing new and not to be too excited but we were wrong. The abundance of different animals and species is astonishing and overall the trip is totally worth the high price (90 usd). Among others we saw: croccodiles, sloths, tapir,... More

Awesome place but extremely humid. Better to get there by plane. Lots of different birds. the 3 hour walk is in flat ground. Not easy for photography as it's quite dark inside the forest

Corcovado national park is undoubtedly an amazing and beautiful place. The only problem is accessing that beauty as a tourist. We took the half day ($90, for reference) tour to Corcovado after already having spent four weeks traveling Costa Rica and its national parks. Everywhere we went we were told that Corcovado is essentially the holy Grail of natural parks... More

This is one of the few places on Earth that has land untouched by logging or mining. In January the paths are dry, and the paths are not very steep or challenging, making it easy to cover a lot of ground in a few hours.

"National Geographic has called it "the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity". Not only is the park very popular with tropical ecologists, a visitor can expect to see an abundance of wildlife." This statement is from Wikipedia and I think very well explains why it is so much worthy to experience (not see) this park. Just... More

We put into the park from our Uncruise ship. It's hard to put into words how abundant this park is. Sloths, monkeys, raccoons, tapirs, butterflies, macaws... creatures great and small. Costa Rica seems to be a leader in conservation with so much of its land proctected. A must see for any one who wants a full-on tropical jungle experience.

Tip: hire a guide. You realy need one to fully comprehend this place and to see animals. I'ts not a zoo! We learned so much from our guide Carlos, call me Charly. Perfect Lunch at the rangerstation included. Most impressive? Ara's and Morpho's
