We went on a guided tour through the forest. The forest itself is so fascinating and the guide tells you a lot about it's history and all the different flora. It is not garanteed that you see animals, but we were blessed to see a...More
Good Hike. Altho bring a rain jacket, comfortable walking shoes and some water. Take the bus in from Santa Elena for 700 , it comes every few hours. Its a nice walk and there is a map with different routes to go to. You can...More
There's so much wildlife to see in Costa Rica, although less in Monteverde than other places. People who come to Monteverde towards the end of their trip are sometimes disappointed as a result of this. The Cloud Forest Reserve is, however, a beautiful place to...More
Visited the Cloud Forest Reserve in early April of 2018 with my wife and daughter. We did the Sendero Nuboso hike in an afternoon. There are wonderful views from several viewpoints, particularly the Great Divide.
We arrived at 7am for a 7:30am tour and were fortunate, so fortunate to get Felix, a walking encyclopedia of fascinating information on every facet and detail of this reserve and its flora and fauna. We saw both male and female quetzal but so much...More

I saw taxis all around when we were there and the staff is extremely helpful. I think you’d be able to request them to call one for you if you needed it. We actually have a French couple a ride into Santa Elena because they were waiting for a tour bus for too long and it’s onky s few minute ride into town. I would suggest getting a taxi driver’s phone number before going to the park or maybe set a time for one to pick you up. Hope this helps.
