I could not find this exact tour to review but our night walk was called a twilight walk at Refugio de Vida Silvestre Monteverde. Our guide was Sergio. It was cool to be on a walk at night in a forest but it was way too many people with flashlights in too small an area all looking at the same... More

The night walk area is situated in a small area of creek line bordered by a road and an old coffee plantation. The operator fitted 5 groups (about 40 people) in on the night we took the tour. Looked like a scene from Star Wars with all the torch beams shining through the bush. We did see a couple of... More

First off: you can never guarantee how many animals you'll see. We saw sloths, a number of birds (not including a quetzal I'm sorry to say!), tarantula, and pit vipers. But the experience is more than just the wildlife. Our guide had great knowledge of the wildlife and of the trees/plants, and how they support each other. He also took... More

A unique experience, seeing what animals come out at night! The forrest is alive after dark. It opened a new door for my teenager who now tells me she wants to be a field biologist and move to Costa Rica!

Payed 25$ for 1.5hours night walking tour, saw a green viper, a sleeping bird, a spider, a woodpecker inside the tree hole. No sloths seen there. Too many persons in a small wood area. Not recommend the tour in this area unless you just want to have a night hike.

The setting of the Mondeverde Inn is fabulous. It is probably the best safe place to do the night walk. They offer a pick up with the tour bus if you are staying within Monteverde itself. We were not but found it very easily via google maps and there is sufficient parking. Upon arrival, the views of the sunset were... More

A tale of 2 couples. The guide asked both us and the other couple to be quiet on the night walk, obviously more chance of seeing and hearing animals etc. Unfortunately he lost control of the excursion and the other lady talked and laughed at high decibels the entire time. Yes she had paid her money so why not ?... More

The first night my boyfriend and I were in Costa Rica, we divided to go on the night hike to see some of the nocturnal animals. With our luck, it was raining. It wasn't so bad, since we had prepared but it limited camera and phone picture use. We did see a wonderful two toed sloth, come down from a... More

This night walk really was one of the highlights of our visit to Costa Rica. The animals you can see in the cloud forest at night are different to those that you can see in the daylight, but you need a really good guide to accompany you. Our guide, like all the guides we used, was excellent. I'd never seen... More

Ill preface by saying that the conditions were not ideal (blasting wind/rain the night we went out), so take it all with a grain of salt. But it felt a bit like a McDonalds drive through experience- we were cranked through a tour. It started from the moment the van picked us up (driver was apparently trying to set a... More
