Our Special Wildlife Tour is from 9 AM until 11 AM on Mondays, Weds, Fridays and Sundays. Our tour is given by the Animal Caretakers in the Wildlife Sanctuary and includes a snack at the end of the tour. (Special tours can be arranged for groups by appointment only.) You will see the following animals in the Sanctuary: • Spider monkeys • White Faced Monkeys • Squirrel Monkeys • Tamarins • Marmosets • Nocturnal Kinkajou (if he is awake) • Parrots • Porcupine • Our multi-species enclosure which is the largest in Central America where humans walk through a cage inside of the enclosure so that the monkeys climb all around you. This newly expanded tour includes our Vet Tech feeding rescue animals that are not normally seen by the public due to the fact that they will be released back into the rainforest. Our Vet Tech will also give a talk and take questions about the animal being shown (through a glass wall for the animal's protection). Animals being shown could vary, so when you book your tour feel free to ask what animal you will get to view. Suggested Donation for the tour is suggested $40 for adults, $25 for kids (under18). The person booking the tour needs to take a deposit of $5 per person to confirm the tour. The people taking the tour will give the money to the Zoo Keeper at the end of the tour, either cash or credit card (a 13% tax will be added when using a credit card). To book a tour, please call or speak to your receptionist. Please be sure to book 48 hours prior to the tour. Sometimes emails take awhile to arrive and we want to make sure we are prepared. We will confirm with you, prior to the tour. The tour meets in the lobby with the glass enclosed computer room, at 9 AM. Here are more details about this tour: You will get to watch the animals in our sanctuary plus: Learn about the monkeys in our sanctuary Learn a little history about each of them

If you like the real experience of nature and animals, this is one of the tours which make feel it. If i did not put 5 star, because they pick up us with a big delay.

We had white faced monkeys feeding from our hands and held a small caiman. The guide was fantastic and the tour one of the best we took during our Costa Rican Vacation

Excellent service in planning our entire trip to Costa Rica in January 2017. We loved all the places we visited, and the recommendations for places to see and stay were superb.

This was a very nice educational experience to understand what this organization does to protect the local wildlife. This is not a zoo, but a rescue sanctuary for animals that need it. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a ton while getting close...More

Don't get me wrong, this project is doing a great job of looking after animals, but the tour was so badly organised that I can't give any more than 2 stars. The host was so strange, from the moment we turned up it was clear...More

Was it exactly what we thought it would be? No. Was it a tad bit expensive? Sure. Would we do it again? 100x YES! This was our first time volunteering on vacation, and it's now going to be a vacation tradition. We were able to...More

I am a great supporter of rescue projects and understand that they need to be supported. This project is small with only a limited number of animals and is on the quaint side rather than impressive. Animals are divided into non-release (monkeys, parrots, sloths, raptors)...More

A lovely morning out . Chip's quiz at the end of the tour is the highlight. What a dedicated team. So lovely to see the wild animals they are rescuing.

I knew almost nothing about KSTR's mission before I went on the tour. I was amazed at everything they are involved in and the quality of the tour that they offer. I was face to face with monkeys, parrots and multiple other animals, some I...More
