I wouldnt say this beach was amazing . Lots of pebbles once in the water alittle further in pebbles goes away. Beach isnt pristine. But a good chill place .

South Jaco beach had waves for all levels! There are places to rent boards, a beachside restaurant, a photographer who captured the kids surfing. Overall it was a great day!

Jaco beach has black sand and lots of wave. Not good for a family with small children. The beach is really dirty and the water, you can see the bottom. Many people surfing everywhere and lots of people

Maybe ok if you're 20, smoke weed and surf but even then I'd find a better spot. I wasn't impressed. It's super touristy and dirty for a "community" that claims to be so eco-friendly and connected to the Earth.

There are several lifeguard stations along the beach. I did not inspect any of the stations, but would suppose that there are rescue/flotation aides at the stations. However, the best bet is to use rather common sense... More
