Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

Had a great visit to the gardens. Was able to get some great photos with clear skies and as the mists rolled back in. If you just want a walk in the rain forest, it may not be for you. If you want to capture some nice photos of the plants and surrounding forest along with mists floating in and... More

I wanted to do the hike down to the waterfall near Tarcoles- but chickened out at the last minute after reading reviews of how grueling of a hike it is- especially in the rainy season. Then I learned of these gardens that offered a view of the waterfall and great views of the mountains and the Pacific. We started the... More

High atop a mountain with stunning views is the setting for this private garden. Stroll through at your leisure and enjoy the diverse flora from both the rainforest and coastal area in this zone between the two ecosystems. Watch for squirrels and toucans and other birds in the trees. At the end of the path is a platform to view... More

My husband and I visited Pura Vida Gardens on a Crystal Cruises - Crystal Symphony excursion in early November. The weather was warm and humid but the gardens were beautiful. We saw a couple of toucans and many picturesque flowers and plants. The path to the waterfall was a steep stairway so many members of our group including me did... More

If you're anywhere near this place, you absolutely need to stop. The gardens are amazing, beautiful plants and animals. We were able to hold a toucan in one of the areas, how often do you get that experience?!

We drove here in our rental. It's actually a beautiful drive into the mountains. Quite a ways up, so be prepared for some beautiful views across the rainforest and out to sea! The gardens were very lush, with an incredible amount of butterflies! We were going to hike to the waterfalls, but saw it was very steep for our son.... More

Thanks for your great review. Some people spend as much time on the beautiful views coming to the gardens as they do in the gardens. The whole mountain is pretty. Thanks again David and Cindy More

This is a must-see if in the Jaco area of Costa Rica. The trip can be booked at any hotel or condominium in Jaco. The Gardens are found high in the mountains with scenery utterly breathtaking - waterfalls, ocean view, flowers, trees that are very unique and much more.

We walked through the gardens and down to the view of the waterfall. It is quite far away, but with a good camera, you can get fantastic pictures. The gardens were very well kept and beautiful. The plants were labeled so you knew what you were looking at. It was a very nice day.

Just a great walk about through the mountain tops of Costa Rica and a garden in paradise. Spectacular views, incredible world wide planting seeds that thrive in a rainforest.

Pura Vida Gardens advertises that you will see the highest waterfall in Costa Rica as well as many types of wildlife We paid $20 US to walk about 200 meters on a paved path in a manicured garden There were plants as in all Costa Rican gardens and some of the plants attracted butterflies. That was the extent of the... More
