Nice and peaceful

Underdeveloped but nice..we didn't have much sun till the last day. . But still very tranquil. Would recommend exploring all the surrounding beaches to find what suits your taste

A Beautiful Beach and surfing spot. This is where the real beach begins on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. I fell in Love with this place. There are many fine eating/drinking estableshemts and hotels allong this streach, as well as local Fruit and natural beverage sellers(Coconut with a straw sticking out of it, or freshly pressed sugar cane drinks).... I love the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It is not the place for someone that is looking for high rises and an abundance of luxury. It is a laid back relaxed life. The beaches in Puerto Viejo are nice but a short bike ride to Punta Uva and you will see one of the most beautiful beaches on the... More

If you come to Costa Rica, please visit the Caribbean, specially if you are the type adventurer, relax traveler and you avoid the fancy all inclusive restaurants, this is a very colorful little Caribbean style town, small restaurants, joints, reggae all over the places, and yes the smell of weed in the air! The food is tasteful and delicious try... More

Puerto Viejo is simply my favorite place in Costa Rica (and there are many amazing places in CR). It has a very nice vibe to it, one side of the street and you get the beach, at the other side of the street you get the caribbean jungle. You can see sometimes monkeys or sloths on the trees, there's super... More

An excellent beach for swimming, the cove in front of soda salsa brava is perfect for hanging out if you have little ones. The water is fairly calm especially in the morning and great fun and safe for afternoon of jumping waves.

Nice Beach really chilled atmosphere, beware the water running into it sometimes it's not just rainwater.. Lazymon bar is a great place to hang out on and has pretty decent food as well as live music most nights.
