Abel Bustmante - a terrific guide!

My wife and I had an excellent day hiking through G-M Refuge. It's right next to the town of Manzanillo. There is a small fee to enter the refuge. I can't remember exactly, but... read more

We spent a morning hiking here with a guide. There is a fair amount of wildlife and scenery here, but we felt it was not as abundant or nice as the other parks we visited in Costa Rica. The area just before the park is very rundown, with a lot of garbage, buildings in bad shape and many people just... More

The park is not well preserved. You're not really going to notice that you're already in the park but the vegetation becomes more "wild". The pathway to the "mirador" is large and the mirador itself is nice with a view over the beach. The beach is accessible a few meters downstairs of the mirador and is very cool and there... More

My boyfriend and I were hiking in mid-September in broad daylight, not too far away from the water and not very deep into the park. A masked man wielding a machete jumped out from behind a tree and demanded all of our possessions. We gave him everything (phone, wallet, shoes off our feet, etc). He then told us to run... More

My parents and I were visiting Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge this August when we were robbed at gunpoint by two masked young men. They pushed us on the ground and threatened us with a gun and knife. They took most of our belongings (camera, reading glasses, sunglasses, watch,...). My mother still has problems with her back due to be throwing on... More

My wife and I had an excellent day hiking through G-M Refuge. It's right next to the town of Manzanillo. There is a small fee to enter the refuge. I can't remember exactly, but it's no more than a couple of dollars. Our time was enjoyable due in large part to our enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guide, Abel. Not only... More

Abel is extremely knowledgeable about the area and wildlife, and shares what he knows with enthusiasm and humor. He books only one group a day, so you are never watching the time. You go at your own pace and see all there is to see. He runs all kinds of hiking, snorkeling and turtle watching tours in addition to Gandoca,... More

the community is very well organized, they built a small bridge it makes it easier for people to get to Miss May Point. Beautiful and relaxing view, beach is great clean and not crowded.

Beautiful nature preserve and beaches. The area is a nice bike ride from PV. Very local feeling. A few restaurants/bars and nice stretches of beach.

Boat ride was an experienced driver that navigated the waves perfectly while providing ultimate enjoyment through safety, organic food at Punta Mona, and pure enjoyment riding the waves off the Caribbean Coast.
