We went on a hike here (with Abel Bustamante who has a page on TripAdvisor) which was great. He helped us see lots of animals and learn about many plants. The part of the park that's by the beach is beautiful and there's a mirador (viewpoint) where you can get a great view of Manzanillo beach.

This reserve is free. There are amazing beaches for swimming, surfing and snorkelling. There are well marked trails through the area and lots of wildlife and birds to see. We did a four hour round trip hike of moderate difficulty .

Florentine and his 17 year old son gave us a detailed 6 hour hike through the preserve rainforest, pointing out snakes, monkeys, sloth, sliders, toucans and many other species of flora and fauna Included was a journey through his personal fruit and medicinal herbs garden. Wonderful day...Affordable. Our friend from the US joined us with our teens to make for... More

There is a lovely 1.5 hour hike through this park, ending at Punta Mona which has a lovely beach with a couple of benches in the shade. I downloaded a map off the internet, note that one of the 2 main trails is overgrown and not passable. Once you get to the section of the trail requiring a short walk... More

You can just walk into the Wildlife Refuge Gandoca from Manzanillo town strolling through the beach. Gorgeous beaches that change with the terrain, sandy, rocky, a beach for every one.

Very popular spot for swimming and snorkeling. Cross the bridge into the park and follow the picturesque path to some secluded beaches.

Tino made this hike the most enjoyable through his knowledge, humor, and easy going manner. His depth and breadth of knowledge around plants, reptiles, and animals was immense. He started the tour in his garden where he has planted lots of fruit trees and other plants. He had you touch, crush, smell, taste, and then compare the many plants and... More

From the lookout point have a beautiful view to the surging ocean, the splashing water drops of the waves sometimes reached us on the top of the cliff. Harmony, peace, calm what I felt when I was there. A lot of families or friend groups staged a picnic on the beach. This is the palce, where I ate first the... More

We took a guided tour with local man, Florentino, and it was wonderful. We trekked for five hours through secondary and primary forest, so dense that Tino had to cut us a path with his machete. Flora and fauna is abundant and beautiful. This is a truly special place and best enjoyed with someone who knows the land so that... More
