The beach is beautiful for walking and collecting coral and shells. And the sunset view is beautiful. The water I found a bit murky and muddy but very warm.

Playa Samara has a decent surf break to boogie board in without being too rough for kids. The beach is beautiful and the water is warm. A few restaurant line the beach making a shady spot for a beverage almost irresistible!

Loved this easy, relaxed surfer beach. We always felt safe and let the kids have room to roam with out us hovering on them. The low and high tides were great for SUP and surfing and boogie boards, for both beginner and experienced. Board rentals...More

Samara is surely a quiet beach town. Has a good number of restaurants and hotels. A must stop in Costa Rica if you want to be away from the tourists and have a relaxing time at the beach.

Lets start with the beauty, it’s a perfect crescent of soft sand with leaning palms and an island to the southeast. There’s the side near town with most of the crowd, which during our week varied from crowded (during Holy Week, CR’s spring break) to...More

It's a beach worth visiting. Try to come during less busy days, because it is such a pleasant place to enjoy a day lounging. We were there when it wasn't too crowded and it was blissful. Go to Jardin Marina restaurant while you're here –...More

A beautiful beach with lots of activities available including surfing, SUP, kayaking, horseback riding, beach restaurants and bars.....the list goes on. Shade is at a premium but umbrella and louge chair rentals are available at a reasonable price.

It isn't really a party town. More family oriented with primarily restaurants, not pubs so much.

We used Samara Adventure Co for a dolphin/snorkelling tour. It was excellent. The Samara Info Center has many more activities to do in and around Samara. Enjoy!

We just got back 2 weeks ago. Didn't see any dog poop. The beach is amazingly clean.
