I visit Costa Rica several times a year, and I am usually here with 2-6 kids in tow. We always get the kids surf lessons with Frijoles Locos and are never disappointed. Today, I was happy to learn that their expert teaching skills also extend to groups of rowdy women in their 40's with no surfing experience. All ladies learned... More

I've been lucky enough to surf many places in the world, and this is by far the best surf shop I've ever used. Great rates, great boards, great people. Online booking too. And they book great wilderness tours as well.

One of my friends who is a local surfer referred me over to Corynne, she answered all my emails and was very informative and helpful. Great overall experience. Went with 2 friends who had never surfed before. JJ was a fantastic instructor, he was waiting for us when we arrived and had nothing but excitement and enthusiasm. If you want... More

This surf shop was about a 7 minute walk from our hotel (Rip Jack Inn), so we utilized it quite a bit throughout our stay in Playa Grande. Their rental rates are very affordable, which made our trip much more fun (body boards-$7, beach umbrella-$10 for 24 hours). Each time we went in there, the employees made us feel like... More

Wonderful staff, rented bards for a week, several were previously unused. Reasonable price. Lessons helped a bunch of newbies ride some waves.

They have some nice surf boards to rent. Good selection of souvenirs and clothing and bathing suits. Billabong, Ripcurl and Roxy. There's a couple other shops but the selection is by far better here.

It was hard to decide which surf shop to rely on when making plans from another country, but went on someone's recommendation and glad we did. Had a group lesson on Monday with our group of 6 (53, 49,21, and three 16 year olds). Ian and JC (?) were great. There were two other folks in our lesson and the... More

We did a group lesson which had 4 people in total. The instructor was extremely nice and it was a great experience. None of us had surfed before or for at least a long time and we all managed to surf some waves. Great value too compared to other places.
