About
Located between forest and rivers near Tapanti National Park in Orosi, (Cartago, Costa Rica) Queveri is a place where agriculture and nature combine to offer you an unforgettable experience. The Arreo tour consists of an experiential activity in Finca Agropecuaria Queveri. It consists of going to the paddocks of the farm, and herding the cattle (with the support of Queveri staff) all the way to the old dairy. While doing it, you can enjoy the views and learn about the importance of the place. If the weather let us do so, the tour is going be completed with a visit to the viewpoint, where you can see the volcanic mountain range of Costa Rica (Poas Volcano, Barva Volcano, Irazu Volcano, and Turrialba Volcano) and Tapanti National Park. At the viewpoint, you can visit the Piedras del Alto and mark them with your name to remember that you were there. Finally, we will have lunch at La Fonda del Alto, a small restaurant ran by the owners, where Costa Rican food is served in 4 courses

Such a highlight of our trip. The owners were so kind and accommodating, the warmest hosts we had in Costa Rica. We took our three children (our youngest is 4) and they all got to ride the gentle and obedient horses. The views are stunning, the hosts accommodating, it was safe and beautiful. Couldn’t ask for more. Heads up - The road up to the farm is its own adventure! We were thankful for our four wheel drive. It’s right by the hot springs too, so afterward we soaked in the waters. A magical day.

My wife and I took the horseback riding tour and it was amazing! You go up to the top of the mountain. The views are incredible, the horses easy to ride and the guide very friendly.

Finca Quéveri is a lovely farm in the Orosi Valley. The farmhouse has very comfy rooms and hot showers. The meals are fabulous and always accompanied with a fresh fruit juice. The owners and staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome.
Don’t forget to go for a horseback ride. It is a wonderful experience. I highly recommend a stay at Finca Quéveri for a relaxing get away.

Had a great day at Queveri, starting with the horseback tour, then went on one of the onsite trails at the property. The views and scenery are stunning there, and the meal we had for lunch was also amazing, using lots of local ingredients, but not the usual CR type food. The horses were suitable for all abilities, and although we didn't stay there but the accommodation looked great too. Very easy to get to from Cachi\Orosi area, and definitely recommended.

We had a great time at Queveri. We drove the cattle on horses to the stables and then went to a beautiful lookout point where we could see 4 volcanoes!
Afterwards we had a delicious 4-course dinner cooked by the matriarch of the house.
The only downside to the experience was the fact that the guide that went with us, although very friendly, did not speak a word of English. I do speak Spanish but my two fellow travelers do not, so they were not able to ask any questions. Also, no information was given during the trip by the guide. It would have been nice to hear a little about the farm and the environment.

We have been in Costa Rica a week so far and this was the highlight for sure!
I love horseback riding, but my children (ages 7, 9, and 12) had never been. The horses were calm and patient with them, and we had the chance to drive a herd of 27 cows up from the pasture into their pen for the night. We were delighted to continue on up the mountain into the jungle, but we hadn’t dressed well for the weather! It was chilly near the top and we got rained on, but our guide was prepared with some warm aguadulce to share around.
Back at the lodge, our wonderful hostess, Rossy, went above and beyond to warm us all up. She was unbelievably welcoming and gracious and truly made us feel like family. Her English was good, and she took the time to help me improve my Spanish and get to know each of my kids. Her cooking is the best I think I’ll find this whole trip. She took local ingredients and made a magical 4-course meal that my kids and I all devoured.
It was a 5 star experience in every way.

We booked the horse riding tour for ourselves and our 5 and 8 year old children and it was a huge highlight of the trip. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome and part of the happy family. The house and surroundings are beautiful. We are all beginners at riding but it soon felt natural and the horses are lovely and calm and we felt very safe. This is literally the first tour (of many!) where our 5 year old didn’t ask when it would finish, the kids loved it! After the riding, we had the most delicious freshly-prepared lunch (and the kids enjoyed playing with the blue heeler doggy, Cuca), I have awkward dietary requirements and they accommodated me perfectly, what a beautiful loving family and an amazing experience, we highly recommend it!

Honestly I am not one that loves the outdoors, however Costa Rica & this Horseback Tour completely changed that. I mean the view from on top of the mountain is amazing. Being able to ride the horse as if you lived and worked on the farm was so much fun& simply being that close to cows, being able to feed them, listen to them & guide them was a once in a life time experience. During this tour they also offer fresh made juices & lunch which by the way was amazing. I know it was also an air B and B, I personally did not stay but the location was very nice and I wouldn’t mind staying next time I go back. DEFF recommend!

Herding cows on the slopes of Tapanti Reserve is about as chilled out as you can get. The Finca is beautiful, set high on the mountain. We received a very warm welcome and were introduced to our guide and the calm, well-behaved horses. The next few hours were spent riding amongst gorgeous scenery while moving and feeding the farm's cattle. Ramiro, our sabanero, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour finished at the main house where we received a delicious four course lunch cooked entirely from home produced and local ingredients. At £40 per person this half day experience is a bargain and a delight!
