My wife and I spent an evening at Paradise Hot Springs on a day pass. It was absolutely relaxing, beautiful, and refreshing. The only thing we suggest is that you do NOT get the buffet dinner. It was underseasoned and overcooked and definitely the worst meal we had in Costa Rica. The swim up bar has a bunch of “snack” options that could definitely be whole meals - highly recommend doing that instead (it’s also cheaper!).

We had a room for the night and liked the space and the safety of it all. Large rooms and helpful staff. At night the hot springs were perfect for soaking and star gazing after a long day of exploring.

The place is beautiful, gardens with lush vegetation and pools at different temperatures. There were few people so very nice. A few small pools or jacuzzi with fresh water to alternate, it was really fun. Practical locker for business but no changing rooms, just showers.

We decided to stop by at this hot spring based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed . There are two big pools and a few small ones attached. There was work being done on of them which they didn’t mention on the webpage. The place itself needs updating and you can see it in different areas. I guess most of the reviews were done by visitors who were on tours and got there in the evening. Definitely it not worth the $43 entrance fee.

The whole structure is large. Both women's and men's bathrooms have little privacy because there is no front door. The cost is still above average. Pay attention to paying by credit card as they try with the pos a couple of times and tell you it doesn't work. Then they try again by entering all the card codes including the CV.
All anti-cloning proof.
Definitely to improve payment by credit card

Excellent experience at the hotel. Great view of the volcano, lots of hot springs to use and good staff. BUT the food is not that good. We had dinner the first night and we had to return a couple of the plates because they were not good. And the server of that night was not good either. Yet the rest of the staff were real good and the room was super clean and modern. I would definitely come back.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're so happy to hear that you had an excellent experience overall, especially with the stunning view of the volcano, the variety of hot springs, and the great service from most of the staff. We appreciate your honesty about the dinner and the service that evening, and we’ll certainly take that into consideration for improvements. It’s great to hear that the rest of your stay was enjoyable, with a clean, modern room and excellent staff. We’d love to welcome you back for another stay in the future!

We spent two nights at Paradise Hot springs for Christmas. The hotel is lovely and staff absolutely fabulous. However, we were offered a 'special meal' for Christmas, and not told what this included , but thought we would go with it for Christmas day as a treat. The food was appalling, basic salad, fish and pork and absolutely nothing special for $45 per person. We went to the other standard restaurant to look at the difference in the resort and the buffet there was serving similar food for half the price or eat from the al a carte menu. We checked with the reception and they said we could swap, so we did and had something from the al a carte menu in the main restaurant which was beautiful food. When we went to check out the manager Estaban refused to drop the charge for the 'special meal' despite awful food and basically overcharging for something slightly different from the main restaurant for $19. This was all incredibly disappointing after spending a huge amount of money during our stay as it is our honeymoon, that the manager refused to acknowledge this and put customer service first. If you stay here don't accept any 'special events' they are a scam and management are unwilling to recognise or take any responsibility.

The changing rooms were tiny and overcrowded, literally one small bench with some hooks. People getting changed in the toilets of which there were only a small number of cubicles. Lockers tiny, really struggled to get my wet walking gear and small backpack in there. The bar pool was overcrowded and quite filthy. All the other pools were reasonably clean, a lot quieter and great temperatures. We had an evening hot springs with dinner pass, the food was very basic and we weren't made to feel welcome in the restaurant as the receptionist hadn't given us wrist bands. We ordered margaritas and they tasted pretty terrible and were served in plastic glasses, even though we had changed into dry clothes and away from the pools. Overall, we had a sort of relaxing time, although the stress of the busy changing rooms, no space and crowds really put us off recommending this place to friends.

We went to this place for the evening for the hot springs and dinner.
We would recommend skipping the dinner option altogether as the buffet food was not great quality, not well cooked and not very tasty and also with no alternatives for vegetarians/vegans.
The hot springs were warm and relaxing and mostly full of young American tourists.
The changing rooms and locker facilities were dated and tired. The cocktails were nice but on the expensive side.

We stayed 3 nights in a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious with veranda for sitting outside, with view of the volcano.
On arrival staff were excellent as they were throughout our stay in all areas of the hotel.
Hot springs very clean and good as was swim up bar.Limited sun beds but it wasn’t an issue for us.
We only had breakfast which was a buffet which was very good. Evening wise a buffet was available but we did not fancy it, limited springs to mind.
Swim up bar closed at 9 pm, great if you want to use the hot pools until that time.
What was very disappointing was the fact that a bar, which serves good hot finger type food eg burger and wraps etc, overlooking the volcano closed dead on 6.30 pm as it got dark. This meant there was nowhere to relax over a night drink and food outside of our room. Strongly recommend that the management address this fact
Location is out of La Fortuna where to be fair there are bars and restaurants that cater for all
However getting a taxi into la fortuna between 6.30 and 7.30 was not easy and most asked for 10 dollars. We said no and went on meter average 5000 local currency.
We enjoyed our stay and it met our needs apart from customer service food and beverage after 6 pm

Do your rooms come with toiletries such as shampoo, toothpaste, shower gel, etc...?

Yes, of course. They even place swan folded towels on the bed. We stayed in the cabins. I recommend the larger ones, although the smaller cabins looked great as well.

Thank you

Hello hued793,
Sorry for taking so long to answer your question, hopefully this can still be helpful for you. The drive is about 3-4 hours long but you don't need a 4x4, the road is, in general, in a good condition. In the area there are lots of adventure related activities, such as hikes, visit to the Arenal volcano National Park and tour to the La Fortuna Waterfall. We highly recommend zip lining, canyoning inside the rainforest and white water rafting; nearby you can also find the Venado Caverns and Río Celeste (Blue River), which is absolutely beautiful.
Kindest regards.

Hola , exactamente no me acuerdo cuánto costaba pero era de los más económicos.
Yo fui sin pack de almuerzo ya que este consiste en "bufete libre" y yo prefiero comer en una soda o restaurante local

Hello Sarah! You can pay on entry if there's space available, since we have a maximum capacity. Depends on the date, and time of the day. If you are planning to visit during the last week of December or the first one of January, it's specially important to make a reservation in advance.
Wish you the best in your trip!

Saludos!
