Our tour guide, William, was funny, informative, and helped us spot a ton of wildlife. He even took some great photos of the wildlife for us! We saw multiple active sloths, frogs, birds, lizards, termites, toucans, insects, an owl and even an armadillo on our day tour. We were very lucky and one of the sloths was awake, low in the tree, and very close to the trail! The tour took about 2 hours but most of it was just admiring the wildlife and taking photos - it ended up being very little walking. We were very happy with the experience and the photos we got.

Excellent experience - We did the night tour (5PM) which was amazing. We got to experience both day and night tour features! Our guide, William, was unbelievably knowledgeable and cared so much about make sure we had a great time, great photos, and saw everything we could see! Would highly recommend - *it is 100% worth paying for a guide*.

We LOVED our experience with Bogarin Trail. Getting a guide is definitely worth it (and needed) as we would’ve been hopeless at spotting anything without their help. We had a brilliant couple of hours walking along the paths, spotting 5 sloth, frogs and lots of incredible birds. It’s a must do whilst in La Fortuna.

Absolutely incredible. Not on our itinerary but went after reading reviews on here. Absolutely the best thing we have done so far.

Our guide William was unbelievable. He could spot all sorts of wildlife (so many sloths, frogs, owls etc.) easily. His stories were very interesting as well having been a man who grew up in the area and survived the 1968 volcano eruption.

The tour was 2 hours and we saw and learnt so much. William couldn’t have done any more to ensure we had a memorable time - he took lots of photos through his telescopic lens on our camera.

I really would advise a guide. Without one you would not see much and the telescopic lens is a must.

My husband and I really enjoyed this stop! As other reviewers have recommended, make sure to do the tour with a guide! We found folks along the walk that did not have a guide and they wished that they had. I went in expecting to see maybe 1 or 2 sloths but this was not the case! The guides goal is to let you see 1-2 moving or active sloths (which is hard!). We saw about 10 sloths and 2 active ones. In addition, we saw several birds along the route as well. The walk is about 1.5 hr but only 0.5 miles- very easy.

Other tips:
- Credit cards are not accepted so bring cash
- Bring bug spray!

We have enjoyed this place in 2022 and this year, 2023. The BEST place for bird watching. You MUST get a tourguide. They will find sloths, poisen dart frogs, toucans and owls.
The owner is so friendly and helpful. Really a beautiful place.
See you next year!

We decided to do this tour kind of last minute and I'm so glad we did! We saw tons of animals! Several sloths active in the trees, lots of frogs, bats, birds, and more. The guide helped us get some great photos with his scope.
