- Amy J9 contributionsExcellent deal and great springs!Bargain day pass at $25/person. Plenty of pools of varying temperatures to choose from and dirt cheap delicious drinks ranging from $4-8 each!! Food menu is delicious and very affordable as well.Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 January 2024
- Meghan YellandMontreal, Canada6 contributionsThe best you'll find. This place was recommended by the locals where we stayed. It the perfect experience of relaxing and not busy like the "fancy" spa's in the area. It costs 25$ for a day pass and they have 2 restaurants to eat, with well priced menu's. The pools were very clean and well kept. We went at 8am during the week and had every pool all to ourselves. There's also a great kids area with 2 slides. Most of all, there's the best view of the volcano Arenal. It's the best view that we saw from any location, including the national park.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 February 2024
- JoMichAlma, Michigan285 contributionsNice but expensiveThe pools at Los Lagos are very nice. We went late on a Friday afternoon, and it was a bit crowded. We managed to find a few pools without many people. The temperatures listed on the signs do not seem accurate, as the hottest pool (104 degrees) didn't feel nearly as hot as the 93.2 degree pool, nor did others listed as 98 degrees or 100 degrees. Small storage lockers are free, but towels are $2 each to rent PLUS a $10 deposit which seems ridiculous! The changing rooms are clean, but not all showers work. We ended up thinking it would have been more pleasant with fewer people. All in all, it was fine, but not outstanding.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 February 2024
- Redwings88101 contributionsMany pools with different temperaturesEnjoyed the various pools with different temperatures. Did not feel too crowded since there were many pools. Drink prices at the bar were very reasonable. Free towel (deposit required though). Changing rooms were clean and well appointed. A few of the pools had water slides. Sometimes hard to find a place to put your towels and shoes at the pools. Have a gift shop and food at the bar.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 March 2024
- SanjeevShanToronto, Canada42 contributionsA relaxing evening in Hot SpringsWe went for the day pass to access the hot springs area. Excellent spot and great layout as all the pools are close together. Didn't realize there was a cost to Towel Rentals so just a heads up if you want to bring your own. But otherwise it was a great place just to relax and have a drink. We've previously gone to Baldi and that place is really busy. I'd almost compare that to a club as its pretty loud. But Los Lagos had a good amount of people and it was more of a "chill" vibe. Plus its so much cheaper in cost. We didn't opt in for the dinner portion as we were going to go get food elsewhere. Would definitely recommendVisited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 March 2024
- misstraveltasticLondon, United Kingdom13 contributionsFantastic hot springs experienceHighly recommend the hot springs day passes at Los Lagos. Just under $100 for 4 of us for a day pass including a delicious 3 course lunch. Whole range of lovely pools with different temperatures, fantastic swim up bar with reasonably priced cocktails, great cool water pool with a fun (fast!) water slide. Not too busy. And as an added bonus a great Arenal volcano viewpoint that you can drive up to within the complex - unfortunately (as it often is) shrouded in cloud on the day we went but would have given a fantastic view if it had been a clear day. Was also great that we didn’t need to book in advance or go with a tour company - we were able to just turn up on the day and booked passes directly at reception.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 April 2024
- Lee LValhalla, New York2,154 contributionsGreat Hot springsI came here twice on two different Caravan tours thru Costa Rica. Each time it was phenomenal. We went up to the overlook at the top of the hill first to view the Volcano. The first time it was cloudy and hidden. The second time it was nice and clear. The 1st time we were there early in the morning just as it opened, and the place was relatively empty, it also started raining as we left. Hopped around the various pools which range from very hot to cool. Second time I came it was later in the day, much warmer, nicer and pretty full. I went up to a place I found the first time which had 3 small pools, cool, warm and hot and just went back and forth between the 3 during my time. They do have a couple of larger pools where you can swim and 1 has 2 waterslides for children, the other has a swim up bar. They have a locker room and lockers for you to change and hold anything you don't need.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 5 May 2024
- Peter5 contributionsGreat valueAn amazing value compared to other springs. Several pools to choose from. We went mid day and spent 3 hours there. Cheap drinks good food and friendly staff. The pool area was relatively empty until we left around 3pm a huge tour bus pulled up and unloaded close to a hundred people. Lots of iguanas and beautiful plants. Highly recommend.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 June 2024

This place is awesome. we visited with the idea of spending a couple hours and stayed for 7. a wide variety of pools with different temperatures and privacy. great bar with good food and reasonable prices. very clean with large locker rooms and changing areas. Only 6000 colones each for entry (cash). for 3 people with food and drinks the whole day was less than $100

Our room was up the hill and looked like a brand new apartment. Large beds, nice shower, good privacy. As a place to soak, however, it's only good if you don't really like your water hot. Even though access to the pools was included with our room, we actually considered buying a day pass at Paradise Hot Springs down the road because we had been there before and their water is nice and hot. So my rating is about a 3 for the "hot" springs and a 4.5 for the hotel room.

We had a lovely time at the hot springs at Los Lagos! We made reservations through our hotel. Our visit started with a wonderful buffet lunch in one of the resorts restaurants ... wouldn't recommend dessert, but everything else was very good, and there was more than a plentiful selection. After lunch, we headed to the pools. For the most part, we stayed in the warm pools, because the day was cloudy and cool. The entire environment is laid out to create a tropical oasis, and each pool is private from the rest. The jet beds were a fantastic way to work out the kinks, and my 65 yr old husband loved the slides a couple of the pools. The resort also has a great bar right at the lowest hot pool, with food as well as drinks. The best part? All of this luxury and indulgence was one of the best hot spring values we found! We will definitely go back the next time we are in La Fortuna!

Can’t say enough. This place has many cold and hot thermal pools, perfectly manicured gardens. You could spend your vacation here without leaving. Serving staff at the Lemmon bar are very fun as well as restaurant staff. Rooms are a bit dated.

I took my wife and 4 boys there this past week. We booked 3 nights and ended up booking two more. My 8yo loved the larger water slide and my 4yo twins loved the bar pool. Diana and Tavo would give them apple slices and cherries with umbrellas throughout the day and they loved it. In fact Tavo went above and beyond helping us get close to the basilisk lizards and even linked us with a friend to see the elusive pedriasosa. The cool rain storms would roll through but it don’t matter! That was my wife’s favorite part. Ordering a pina colada in a downpour in a mineral hot spring. It was truly amazing! One star off because beds and pillows are too firm

We stayed at Los Lagos for five days and four nights. We enjoyed every morning having coffee outside on the balcony waking up as the mist moved away from the Arenal Volcano, which we could see from our room (I really miss those mornings). We tried out almost every pool on the premises and could feel the stress from our hectic lives melt away. We visited the swim up bar almost daily and couldn't help but partake in the local drinks. We didn't want to leave the relaxation that this resort offered.
But, there was more to the resort than just volcanic hot springs. For all you naturalists out there this resort has an enclosed butterfly garden, frog refuge, turtle pond, fish ponds and ant farm on the premises (the ant farm was amazing in that it housed leaf-cutter ants moving throughout this large enclosure). The iguanas and lizards move freely throughout the resort grounds so you could see them lounging by the pool too! And don't be surprised if you hear the sounds of hoof beats in the morning or early evening for the resort has a riding barn too (but the horses bed elsewhere for the night so they can be seen trotting from location to location). The birds like to visit the numerous trees on the premise (every day we spied species that were new to us).
The resort has a zipline that runs above the canopy and the rooms and for those of you with young children, they have some wickedly fun pool slides (bummed that we were too old to use them).
We would go back in a heartbeat!

The hot springs on the campus of the Las Lagos resort offer several man-made hot springs pools with varying temperatures. When I visited, there were far too many people, and I was unable to enjoy the facilities. Everything is overpriced, although the location is beautiful and the would be more enjoyable if less crowded.

Visited for the day pass with the extra add on of dinner. Whilst the hot springs were delightful, the cold pool was underwhelming and the food was awful in the restaurant. You have a set menu with limited choice and when it arrived it was all very bland and partly cold. Dessert was completely inedible. We visited Relax termalitas hot springs in La Fortuna as well and this was far better! And only 4000 colones.

WOW! We loved this place so much. When booking i was nervous bc of the price but my parents had passed by it on one trip and said it looked nice so I went for it. Thank god I did because we had so much fun. The hotel itself is beautiful, our view of the volcano from the room was so pretty. The restaurant staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel staff was very attentive, any time we had an issue or needed assistance they responded very quickly. A short drive to la fortuna where there are many good places to eat.

For the shuttle option, do you provide transportation from Monteverde at all or only La Fortuna?

We will be getting into La Fortuna about 4:00 in the afternoon, and would like to use some hot springs that day. I am wondering if anyone knows how late we are allowed to use the hot springs if we purchase a day pass?
