This was our family's highlight of the Arenal area. Our guide Simon was very informative and patient with our kids and was full of great information about both flora and fauna. Saw caiman, 2 and 3 toed sloth - which both kids really wanted to see - and a very wide selection of birds. A must visit if you are... More

Visited this small but lovely park to see fantastic birds feeding a few feet from us, followed by a short tour into the butterfly house prior to walking around the trail to see other animals. Good tour for all ages and all abiities

We had an early morning tour with Simon (from Germany), and it couldn't have gone any better. Simon was very nice and knowledgeable about Costa Rica's ecosystem and seemed genuinely interested in giving us a tour. We learned so much about the variety of plants, insects, and animals in Costa Rica and even saw a couple of sloths!

Went with Freddy Montero of "Private Tours Costa Rica". Without Freddy's knowledge, expertise and eagle eyes we would have missed every thing. He pointed out 5 different sloths, various types of birds, leaf cutter ants, basilisk lizards, caiman baby and the mom, blue jeans poison arrow frog, different herons/cranes, trees, plants and various beautiful flowers.

Spent a few hours at Ecocentro on a rainy afternoon! Honestly, this was my wife's idea as I'm not all that much of an animal person, but it was still fun. The guide that came with us from the hotel was great and pointed out a lot of animals, birds, monkeys, slots, lizards, butterflies, and plants that there's no way... More

I had read about this place in a guide book and wanted to go. For some reason different people seemed to discourage us, saying it was an hour away or that the animals were in cages. None of that was true. It is just outside of La Fortuna and the animals aren't caged. We went on a beautiful day and... More

Our entire family enjoyed this outing! Danaus isn't located very close to Hotel Jardines Arenal so we walked a few hundred meters to the entrance. The center is in a lush jungle surrounded by farmland. We saw five sloths, many caimans, poison dart frogs, trails of leaf cutter ants, lizards, iguanas and very beautiful butterflies. Our guide, Simon, was very... More

Went to Ecocentro Danaus on the advice of our hotel and we were not disappointed. Spent a thoroughly absorbing couple of hours with out guide Simon, whose passion shone through. We saw a wide range of animals, from frogs and butterflies to sloths and birds. Absolutely fantastic.

We had a great visit with Simon, our extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. There is so much to see, beautiful birds and butterflies as well as animals, frogs. I could go on. Well worth a visit to appreciate the work this centre is doing.
