Seemed like a pretty lake. I saw some views while hiking in Arenal National Park. There is a man at the dam that rents kayaks and sells fresh coconuts.

I decided to go fishing in the lake while I visited the resorts. Booked with a guide to catch Rainbow Bass and other local species. Apparently the best time for fishing is May - June - July. The lower the lake is the better for...More

Make the drive around the lake - check out the Arenal Observatory Lodge, the Hanging Bridges Park and experience the culture in the small towns along the way.

We took the jeep-boat-jeep journey from La Fortuna to Monteverde with the boat portion on Lake Arenal. Nice views of the surrounding landscape.

I took the long way back to Jaco from Arenal and the views of the lake and volcano are spectacular. If you have the extra hour, make sure you leave La Fortuna counterclockwise around this beautiful lake.

So beautiful. An excellent way to make your journey across to the near town of La Fortuna. The volcano slowly creeps closer and closer. Highly recommended than a car or bus.

Beautiful place to enjoy the different activities, in Lake Arenal you can do activities such as boat rides, kayaking and sport fishing. During our visit we did the kayak tour for two hours and we love the beautiful view of the Arenal Volcano.

This wasn't a challenging hike - but it was a pleasant walk in the woods. Our guide, Steven, from Canoa Aventura was terrific and provided a wonderful morning. The view of the volcano was obscured by fog, but we had a lovely view of the...More

There is a spot to enter for swimming where there is a hit with blue kayaks on a slope, may be in the east side, not fair from the main road

Yes. I just fish from the shore of Lake Arenal on the south end by the dam. Catch and release. I hit it up early morning and late afternoon and tend to stay pretty busy letting fish go. There are also guys like Captain Ron... More
