Lovely piece of history. Pretty setting. Enjoyed the plaques telling us about the history of the building and city.

This has ruins from the old capitol building, when it was located in Tuscaloosa. It is a great spot for pictures and weddings. There is a pavilion on the site that you can rent. Beautiful location!

So very interesting!! Great place for photography and weddings, etc... This park was the site of the Alabama capitol when Tuscaloosa was the seat of state government from 1826 to 1846. A visible reminder of the old capitol building that burned in 1923 is the stone foundation and two small columns..

This is a neat little park with some historic ruins and full of history. It's set back on it's own and is rarely super busy. It is, however, a great setting to take pictures and is popular for graduation and wedding pictures. Lovely spot.

Capitol Park is a small park with a lot of local history. The grounds are well kept and clean. Nice place to take photos.

My family and I have been several times. It is excellent for pictures during spring time and you basically get to walk back in history to when the state was still developing!

I'm a Tuscaloosa native, so I've visited Capitol Park many times. If you have nothing to do and want to get out & about, take a little walk around Capitol Park. You will see old buildings around as well, that used to be people's homes back in the ~1800s. Great for history buffs that appreciate 'what was.'
