My husband is a Mercedes Benz enthusiast, so when I found this plant tour prior to our trip to the Gulf states we ended up extending our trip by 4 days just to be able to take a Monday tour. MAKING A RESERVATION: firstly, it's difficult to get in contact with them. After the phone message plays there is a... More

My husband and I made a stop to see the Mercedes Benz Visitor Center. We arrived on a Thursday and there were not any tours that day. A must see for automobile enthusiasts. We did not know that some of their most popular automobiles are manufactured in Alabama. Interesting iconic cars, concept cars, and future designs. Mercedes Benz is opened... More

It was amazing to see so many robots working on building the basic car. And yet there were many people on the line putting pieces on the cars. The plant was very clean and well organized with designated walkways, flashing lights, and directional signs. The actual tour was barely one-half hour - the rest of the time was loading in... More

Very interesting to see the home of the M-Class and the other vehicles that sports the star. There is a lot of history right here

Always desired to visit a plant where one of our cars was built. Our family was in Tucaloosa for a graduation and the graduate facilitated our tour. The plant is spotless! The tour guide hit the sweet spot for our broad age span group. There is a certain Germanic aura to the place which is reassuring. At the time all... More

We were just driving by the area and noticed this Mercedes-Benz facility had a museum. We did not have reservations nor did we book a tour. We just went inside to do a self guided tour through the museum. The facility is very beautiful and the museum is very informative. There's a nice gift shop inside if you want to... More

I loved being able to see how the cars were made. They walked us through the whole assembly process and although the guide was a little abrupt with us, the whole experience was worth it.

I visited with my four children, ages 11, 9, 7, and 2. My 11 year old was entranced, absorbing every detail carefully and impressed by the cars on display. My two year old wanted to touch and climb on the cars, both of which are not allowed. I wish I'd brought my stroller to help contain her. The middle two... More

This is a two hour tour of the Mercedes Benz factory that is the only location in the US that produces the vehicle. The robots and employees are fascinating to watch with the assembly of the various car components. You get to see every facet of the operation except for the painting.

I think I would have enjoyed it much more if I hadn't been to the BMW manufacturing tour in Munich, Germany. Mercedes Benz keeps tour participants far away from the manufacturing process. Stand behind a line and against the wall. If you haven't been on a European manufacturing tour, this will be very interesting. I give them points for having... More
