The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular 'ERA Intersection of Time' has been performed since its debut at Shanghai Circus World in September 2005. It is unique and comparable to the tradition of the Broadway Musical. It is in fact a stunning acrobatic show combining traditional Chinese arts and modern technologies. The performers present Chinese acrobatics, martial arts and dance perfectly in harmony with the music, sound, lighting, and other special effects, which include a water screen. While you marvel at the highly proficient skills of the performers, the story of China's evolution from its ancient past to the future is told. Hence, the title 'Intersection of Time', as the viewpoint of the audience is set in the present between the past and the future. The performance provides a wonderful insight into China's ancient culture and civilization, with sections about Sinan, an ancient Chinese invention for telling directions, soothsaying and conjuring. There is a fantastic section showing an acrobatic program which has elements performed since the far off days of the Han Dynasty (206BC–220AD). With porcelain jars and vats as their stage properties the performers give an overview of Chinese porcelain culture and greater understand of the country's name of 'China'.Modern achievements that are also showcased include Shanghai Donghai Cross-Sea Bridge, Maglev Train, and Shenzhou 5, China's first manned space mission. From these, you can see the amazing development and bright future of Shanghai and the whole country. The 100-minute performance shows not only artistic skills, but also creativity. Aided by multimedia including vision, original live music, sound effects, smell effect, air conditioning and lighting,

This is A MUST thing to do while in Shanghai. Show is amazing and very entertaining. It's similar as in Beijing but I prefer the one in Shanghai. DON'T NEED to buy an expensive ticket/seat because all cheap seats are good enough and no matter where you are, you will be able to see it clearly. I bought the seat... More

Great night with the children. Watched the bikers through my fingers. They were fairly strict about not taking pictures, signs and announcements etc,, but of course people blatantly took videos and pictures, very annoying. Great show, great atmosphere and wonderful performers. We also went early to the Daning Shopping Mall nearby and had supper at Burger King. Walked from there.

Shanghai circus is good to see but there is no animal show and its very slow . First half is still interesting other half was bit boring. Photography and videography is not allowed so i dont have any pictures to share . Not at all up-to expectation .

Very talented acrobats and gymnasts. The last part with 8 men in motorcycles driving inside a sphere was just amazing. Theatre is small so even though we were seated a bit high, we were still able to see the acts closely.

My husband and I went to the Friday night 7:30pm show and found it very entertaining. Small venue so cheapest seats are all you need.

As mentioned by many others, the expensive tickets are not necessary. The theatre is relatively small, so all seats are great except for the very lowest priced tickets, which are folding plastic chairs behind the rows of theatre seats. Definitely avoid those. The VIP section down front was half empty, so it seems that they might want to re-think their... More

i have been here 5 times now with visitors and each and every time i have enjoyed the show. don't need the expensive seats unless you want to 1 metre away from the performers. i have never gone past the cheap seats which put you up high and on the side and the view is still brilliant.

From a Chinese point of view it's revolutionary, acrobatics combined with a bit of theatre, spectacular audio-visuals and live music. See it as an affordable Cirque Du Soleil. Tip: 1. Be there in time. Better half an hour too early than arriving halfway the show. This because Shanghainese rush hour is almost at Beijing level. 2. Better not leave your... More

I have seen this show 4 times during my stay in Shanghai. The seats are basic but comfortable. The view is good, even from the cheaper end Seats. The gymnasts are amazing, the female singer is really good and the live music is incredible. Great show and a must when you visit Shanghai.

Excellent show. Worth to spend your evening in a colourful exciting manner. The show is extremely professional. Easily reachable by subway. Starts at 7:30pm till 9. As it's very famous, you should prefer to book tickets in advance.
