I went here a few years ago while on a business trip to China. It was not too far from where I stayed at the Le Meridien, and they had great pricing and good reviews. My therapist asked me what sort of pressure I wanted, and I said firm, but boy was I not expecting such a tiny girl to... More

We took 1 hour oil massage. It was very nice and relaxing. The masseuse are very professional and the ambient environment evokes pleasant atmosphere.

I frequent Hongqiao Dragonfly regularly for massage treatments, along with my wife. It's located in a well maintained little pedestrian mall which holds several restaurants. Location allows for good access by car, with either street or off-road parking available, depending on the time of the day. The Metro line 10 Longxi Rd station is perhaps a 10 minute walk, not... Dragonfly is popular amongst expats in Shanghai but I found it to be an average 'no frills' spa. I've had my nails done twice there and the second time I did shellac, I found it to be expensive. This particular branch is in a secluded street which adds to peacefulness in busy Shanghai, but there are certainly cheaper options if... More

I went here last Monday for an Ultimate Indulgence Massage which was an hour of Chinese Tuina massage and an hour of chinese foot massage. Both were incredible. The gentlemen who did my treatments was excellent. I was soooo relaxed when the two hours came to an end. Cost 358¥ which is an absolute bargain for two hours treatment. Thank... More

Dear Hazel, We know we have done a good job when you write "soooo relaxed"! Actually I guess we know we have done a good job when you say it was the most amazing massage ever... You chose one of our most popular and relaxing treatments and we do hope that we can make you equally happy on your next... More

Went here to get the top to toe massage, where in one hour you receive both a foot massage as well as a second therapist massages your shoulder and neck. Very relaxing after long flight and jet lag from the US. Spa is more expensive than regular spa's in shanghai, however advantage is people speak English and accept all major... More

Dear Gon, Thank you for your wonderful comments. Top to Toe is my personal favourite and I would say our signature treatment. Our Oriental Foot Massage is extremely popular, but Top to Toe puts the icing on the cake. I am pretty convinced that for international visitors this is by far the most popular treatment. We pride ourselves on having... More

The staff are good, waxist is good nail technicians are good, masseuses are good. Deco is lacking, paint is pealing and air conditioners are filthy. For the price you pay these are simple fixes that would lift the place. Their rooms are also small and cramped. Trying to get as many patrons in as possible, which doesn't do much for... More

Dear Mcneiceaa, My apologies for not seeing your review until now but I agree completely with your points about the need for clean air conditioning and fans. We did some renovations of this shop after you wrote your review and will be doing some more again shortly but in the meantime we have begun frequent inspections of all shops to... More

I'll just write a few sentences about Dragonfly. . . My husband calls this our home away from home. Save yourself some money and buy a membership card. Definitely worth it!

Dear Bronze, We have certainly heard from our lady customers in the past that Dragonfly is their "second place" or some ladies used to call our foot massage room "the womb" because it was so warm and comforting. It is wonderful to know that husbands too consider us to be a "home away from home". What better recommendation could we... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
