A lot of things changed during COVID-19 Pandemic, but not the extraordinary service provided by Heping Fandian's team! Heping Hotel has been my favorite hotel in China since 2018. I met Zoey, their talented and excellent front desk operator who helped me a lot during my stay. China is changing rapidly since last I was there. Zoey was kind and informative. She made my visit in China much more easier. The room she gave me have impeccable street view. It always makes me want to extend my stay.

The Peace Hotel is wonderful. We didn't stay there but had lunch which was excellent but not cheap. The rest rooms (for which you need an access pass) are truly wondrous.

Do yourself a favour and wander in from the Bund into this living museum of a bygone ear. Every fixture, every architectural detail is priceless. Take the elevator to the 8th floor restaurant and if they're nice, the staff will let you go onto the terrace and take in the view...

The beloved hotel has a deep history. So sad the historical walking visit of photos have been replaced by movie star photos which are less significant than the depth of history it should preserve.
Brought business clients there who had a far lesser joy because movie history is nothing to the deep history it had.
Wanted to have high tea but the price of 345 Yuan per person with nothing more than a disinterested pianist playing is another poor display of exploitation.
The cafe had a far better joy to enjoy with street views and a more reasonable menu.
Oh Fairmont what have you done???!!

The Peace hotel is located right at the Bund, It has thisOld fashioned, Golden Era feeling to it. However don't get this wrong, As soon as you walking the hotel you are perfectly know that this is the 21st-century hotel. Highly professional service, as should be in any five-star hotel is everywhere.

The restaurant great try especially the duck in the Chinese restaurant which is one of the best in town.

The bar is a strong historical feeling to it, Thank you feel almost like in one of those old movies as you sip one of your cocktails.

In every major city of the world, there are some really beautiful hotels that has stood the test of time. Its beauty and grandeur reminds one of the old world charm. These hotels carry upon themselves the titles of Grand Dames.
And definitely, the Peace Hotel at the Bund is worthy of this title.
I think it was build in the late 1800s and it has seen her fair share of history. There is a history section that is highly informative.
BEAUTIFUL marble flooring and beautiful columns define the awe and charm when you walk along the corridors. It is one of those buildings you must stay in one time. Filled with great restaurants and bars.
But the best feature is the jazz band on Sundays. Since the 1920s, Peace Hotel has been the centre of the elite. Even in those days, the rich and the famous would be dancing to jazz tunes. I think two of these members are in their 90s and still swinging
Must book in advance and do enjoy this classic Sunday afternoon tea with dance if you choose to.

It is not your traditional western jazz bar, a very pleasant surprise which made the visit worthwhile.
It's Chinese Jazz (if there is such a thing). As described in the hotel's write-up, "The current Old Jazz Band is made up of six veteran musicians whose average age is 82."

The compact but fascinating Peace Hotel Museum is in 1 room up the stairs next to the shop. From there they run exclusive tours of the hotel (ring to book in advance). JoJo gave us an amazing insight into the history of the hotel and we visited many beautiful parts of the hotel. It is such a special building! Thank you JoJo for sharing it with us!
