The Promenade is a true hi light to add to any visit to Shanghai. The views of Lujiazui are unparalleled. Great both during the day and night.

Went here in the afternoon and there were several weddings being held on the river cruise boats. Lots of families with children walking along the river. There are a few snack/drink carts along the river.

We took the ferry across the river and walked along the promenade and it was so nice! We did it at night so there were not many people around. Definitely recommend in combination with the ferry ride (super cheap!).

Is this not the same event as the Shanghai Circus World? If it is different, how can I get an advance reservation or an online ticket booking? Thanks.

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
