The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

Strolling along river Huangpu in the evening/night is one of the best way to enjoy in Shanghai. Very long, well maintained and lots of people. Good place for having nice snaps of skyline across the river.

It is a long and lovely promenade along the river that gives spectacular view of new shanghai city. It gets very hot during the day in summer and more pleasant at night time.

Its nice during the day with many tourists and locals out. It gets a bit crowded but the night crowd is very interesting as well. The view during the day you get to see all the flowers.

A must if you want to enjoy the skyline of the financial district. Just walk along the river. Once tired, take the ferry to the other side to get a different perspective (avoid the tunnel!).

This is very similar to Marine drive in Mumbai and it made me feel like at home. You can come here for morning walk and yoga and chats with friends.

This is a great place to visit at night. It is dead-easy to get there with all the metro stations in close proximity. You can take a ferry across the river.. great fun for kids!

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
