This was the first time I hear about this museum thanks to the recommendation of some friends and it was an absolute delight. Beautiful building and the Song Dong exhibition was really amazing. Great place for all contemporary art lovers.

The 1930s heritage Art Deco building in the historic Rockbund district very close to the famous Bund is lovely for those who like this period of architecture (I do!). I am not a fan of contemporary art and so it very much depend on one's...More

A building with a history! Often changing exhibitions for art lovers, and sometimes the exhibition is not worth, but the neighborhood is very inspiring.

Having had high expectations with this venue being near the Bund and continually praised in Time Out Shanghai, I was hugely disappointed. It was very small and hosted a strange exhibition. Unfortunately one of the main art pieces on the whole 3rd floor was completely...More

I found the staff here very helpful and was provided with a helpful information leaflet to guide me around the various exhibits. It wasn't where I was expecting to find it based on my map but worth a look around if you're in the area

It's a pleasant place with good exibitions. You get also coffe or tea for the price of entrance ticket 30rmb. It's also worth checking out museum's neighbourhood, which can be surprising.

The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the
world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous
waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts
monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai
International Settlement run by the British and
Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has
endured over time and is now found in the five-star
hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive
