Very cute and quite authentic ancient water town accessible by metro. Free entrance. You can buy a group ticket to the handful of museums inside the town, but the museums are small and specialized. One can live without the museums but they are not terrible either.

After spending plenty of time in Shanghai, it was a good surprise to find Qibao. Easiest way to get there was by line 1 and line 9 from People Square and then a short walk to the old street area. There are plenty of shops and local food in this area. The sights of old Shanghai were good to see... More

I think overall is ok, it is fulfilled with Chinese style, nature, and many more. You can take the Metro name ''Qibao'' and look at the map find ''Qibao Zhen''.

You can take metro line 1 to Qibao station and then walk follow the signs there. It's easy to find it. It's free. You can rent clothes to go around the town to take photo. Food street here is so crowded.

Such an amazing place to visit, see the real chinese ways of things (was under renovation during my visit) Lovely long streets, theres a temple towards the other side but Jade Buddha and Jingan are 10 folds better. 7 minutes walk from metro station. Chinese food stalls in abundance and gift outlets.

Very old preserved area with bridges and small shops selling all types of traditional Chinese foods and souvenirs. Not clearly signposted from subway system so takes a bit of map reading to find.

Qibao Old Town is not a great architectural experience, it has some interesting old buildings and canal bridges but the reason that thousands of Chinese go there every day is food. Old Street is a narrow lane packed with small restaurants and stalls selling every kind of Chinese food you can imagine and a few you don't want to. It... More

Very nice old town part with bridges, gates, canals, temples, all surrounded now by the new city. Easy access by subway line 9, the smell of the local food, the Qibao pork speciality, the smoked tofu. Not so far if you continue by subway' the Shanghai "mountain" Seshan and at the end of line Songjiang with its sqare Tang dynasty... More

Quite a pleasant town to walk around. Try the street food. Weekends ...this place is crowded. Accessible by the subway.
