There are lots of boats along the river which you can book and do a cruise along it. You can chose to have dinner on the boats or simply go for a cruise. Worth doing at night so you can experience the colourful lights.

This is a great way to see Shanghai. Take the night cruise for this terrific light show. The buildings change colors and the lights in motion are great to watch.

costs $1 dollar to go on ferry roughly it is NOT a cruise but you get the best views of the river evening time

To my knowledge there is no food available as it's a short cruise.
