I like offbeat attractions. This one defines "offbeat." It is in an otherwise bland neighborhood. Once you enter the building you just have to walk around a lot to try and comprehend the structure and the purpose and how it all worked. Very cool.

Great for a stroll, or good for an entire day if you really like art. Much of it can be pricy, and should be nice in summer.

A complex housing many artists and their works. Some of the works are interesting and thought provoking. But mostly I was underwelmed by what I saw, which was fairly traditional work. Others were a bit different but very repetitive.

This is a nice, quiet area to wander around if you are at a loss for something to do. A few galleries to visit but prices too high for consideration.

Love the experience! It's not just a gallery - it's an entire compound with many small-mid size galleries, each offers you with its unique vibe with different style of art and exhibitions. The best part is many talented upcoming artists even use the space as their studio. So, you'll get to see some of artists drinking tea while chit chatting... More

A very good and almost completely free art district , perhaps Shanghais 798. A must for modern art lovers.

Went looking for a bit of art and culture, a nice space but not terribly inviting. Probably need to go with someone who knows their way around.
