Our expectations weren't super high, but we were in the area and decided to check it out. The place is run down and depressing. The displays are in bad shape and not very informative as well. There are animals as well as insects, and the...More

My visit here lasted for around 3 hours, but it can probably be done faster if you don't stop and read every display, and take photograph of each. Entrance fee is usually 60 RMB, but there's some special days now from 9th-15th September 2017, where...More

From the name you imagine a place containing insects, instead there is a large array of animals in tiny little cadges. Not recommended to anyone who cares about animals, seeing a ferret in a hamster cage was heartbreaking. A huge turtle in a fish tank,...More

We live in Shanghai and this is an inexpensive place to take our toddler for a day trip. The front entrance is shabby and odd plastic cut-outs of Bugs Bunny and Pepe le Pew are a very strange way of introducing guests to a place...More

Situated by the River, this is a nice little place to visit - even though it was inside. You can not always get what you want so you just gotta make do. I feel the place was well laid out, and all the exhibits were...More

For all of its shortcomings - yes there are some animals in less than ideal conditions and it's NOT near a Metro - welcome to China!!! this is the ONLY place in inner Shanghai where my boy could pet and feed an animal (goat)! Also...More

It was good for education for my 6 years old daughter. She enjoyed it very much, much more than adult. When I visited Shanghai, it was rainy and foggy day, so this was one of the good place to visit.

We visited recently this place. To be honest when I red reviews here I was a bit afraid that I will not like it - some reviews mentioned like bad smell, bad conditions for animals... We did not experience any of those, it was nice...More

This place is right next to the Aquarium and for 60RMB, I thought I would take a look. What a mistake. I should have guessed something was not right when I saw Daffy Duck, Pepy Le Pew and Bugs Bunny figures in the forecourt that...More

I wish I had consulted Trip Advisor before visiting this attraction. It is horrible. Small cages for the turtles. Smelly and unclean. We couldn't get out fast enough. Save your money and go to the aquarium or the Shanghai circus instead.
