Not cheap and only 45 mins, but worth every penny for the night cruise which gives perfect views of both banks and a front row seat for the nightly light show. English/ Chinese commentary in high quality boat.

Turns out to be a rather large ship and can get crowded both inside and outside but people pretty much move about, especially about half-way through. Mostly relaxing, although not many seats on the top outside deck. The views on both sides are well worth the view from the river.

Perfect way to check out the beautiful high rise buildings in Shanghai. You cruse around the pier, great photo opportunity. They do sell beverage and snacks on board. They offer day & evening cruise. LOVE the evening cruise because the lightings on those buildings are so beautiful.

As it approached later afternoon around 4ish, we decided to take the river cruise right along Zhongshan road. We deliberately waited for evening so we could take the boat to see the suset. A bit of a wait, but it was worth it. The boat is lined with glass to have a view from the inside with seats lined along the glass. However, I do suggest not to sit inside the boat, but stand outside at the deck and enjoy the view. Its beautiful especially when the sun sets down the river as the city lights up. Truly a wonderful sight to capture the view of this beautiful skyline.

After a half day city tour we decided to take the night 1 hour cruirse to view the city lights. The cruise was fantastic with the city lit up, a beer one hand and camera in the other we thouroughly enjoyed the cruise to view the city.
Looking back to the heavily crowded shore line we were very glad we decided on the cruise and not trying to walk the bund for photos.
The only negative was the boarding experiance as once the boarding was announced it was a mad rush with people pushing and it felt a little like a mosh pit. We just went with the flow and laughed it off but some people found it dawnting. The boat was not too crowded and you could easily find a spot at the rails to get a great view.

the terminal is pretty crowded and chaotic, but the people seem to move quickly and herd themselves where they needed to go. if you take your time and stand towards the edge you wont get swept up in the rush of people trying to board and deboard the boats.

Situated close to the Yu gardens is the Terminal which offer short and long cruises on the Huang Po River. It is a paid cruise. It is better to take this at night to see the magnificent lights of Shanghai. We opted for the shorter duration which was for 30 minutes and costed 120 RMB. Please see my pictures for the views that will await you. They are quite stunning. Must do on a free evening.

This is a tour of the river with tables inside and you can have noodles soup. Casual, I didn’t see a bar. Plenary of seating and clean. Beautiful views of the city at night. Definitely recommend and fine for kids.

Book early and ARRIVE early. Seats are not allocated and you may end up searching for a comfortable seat before launching. Otherwise highly reommended if you have not seen Shanghai by night previously.
