There isn't much to do here. It was brutally hot in Shanghai the day we visited and so we sat here in the shade just watching all the people go by. There were many other people who had the same idea and as a result, it was quite crowded.

We loved strolling around the park last weekend and enjoyed the lights shinning all around. This is a great place to people watch and just look around at the city skyline beauty!

I hear before the Expo there was a park. Now there is not much green left. Walking along the Huangpu river along the "park" however is really nice and popular.

There are lots of restaurants, malls, financial institutes, and others, some of which are imperial-style buildings. Especially, you should take pictures of nightview of Shanghai on a ship or alogn the Huangpu River.

While not the largest of parks, it is nice to have a little greenery at the end of the Bund. This is a wonderful place to take photos day or night and the views of the city along the river are stunning. There is a small amount of grass that's actually part of the monument and not really for sitting... More

Huangpu Park is like a small oasis which straddles the Bund at the north end and across from the British Consulate (a beautiful, historic building). The manicured lawn and gardens particularly stand out as there is not much green space in this part of Shanghai (don't walk on the grass like I did - you will get a very stern... More

Located on the river it over looks modern Shanghai with some amazing buildings to be seen. Great to just to sit in the shade and watch the locals go by, after walking Nanjing road this was less crowded and relaxing.

This is a nice little park on the waters edge of the Bund and is well set out with nice flower beds. Best of all is the great view of modern Shanghai, especially at night.

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
